Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The latest in a line of players who perform for their clubs and then look like a Leinster Senior League player in an Irish shirt. If only we could pinpoint a common factor in it all.

Like how he showed Sisto the inside there.

No danger of an Irish goal anyway.

    Duffy missed a sitter

The only high point about tonight is the lack of paying customers.

All the hype about Doherty and he's been crap. Nearly cost us a goal there.

Lads put too much heed on club form when looking at possible Ireland players. It rarely matters a jot. Also playing in the Premier League is overrated. Hendrick has gone to **** for Ireland since his move, Brady was at his best for Ireland while in the Championship also

Happens a lot with Barcelona, some players just arent capable of it

    Richard Kee-hoe. FFS.
Jeez why is this match only on English tv? They should at least make an effort to pronounce the names correctly.

Urm lol I'm fairly sure it wasn't

Edit: just saw replay, it was the pair of them. Both stepping to the right of the ball

It falls under the existing TV deal as a friendly, and Sky have the rights to Rep of Ireland friendlies.

I've seen Ireland play much worse. At least there seems to be a desire to keep the ball.

As a game though it's a bit pedestrian

Yeah defence has been solid, good shape to them and after conceding 9 goals in our last two competitive games. If we keep it scoreless then it's something to build on.

It's not pretty, it will bore the pants off you but if you prevent the opposition from scoring then you can't lose :D

To subject the English to 90 minutes of torture?

Just showed him hitting the post both let him inside when he hit the post.
Unless your on about him letting the ball through his legs which ain't exactly letting him inside.

They subject themselves with boredom of their own plenty of times when their own team is playing, no need to be watching the Irish.

If the players were as bad as they look under O'Neill then none of them would be playing in the top three divisions in England.

All the talk before the game was whether we'd go 3 at the back or 4. Turns out the answer was 10.

This is total bollox. He isn't being asked to play against Denmark with Swords under 16 third team. These are all professional footballers.

He has sucked the confidence right out of them. Countries with less money and weaker players at least try to play football. We simply don't. The formation, shape, training, and instructions all come from the manager.

It's the manager's fault. End of.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,725 ✭✭✭✭blueser

Shooting off at a tangent here (that's how riveting the game is!); how come the only Irish replica shirts you can buy have that fugly "three" logo on them. It's not on the players' shirts. When I go over to games in England, you see England replica shirts on sale in Sports Direct, JD Sports, etc and they don't have the Vauxhall logo plastered all over them. What's the story?

I agree with all of this. 11 players behind the ball for most of the game - it's like we're fcuking Gibraltar.

Has to be a better way of playing than this FFS

More money for the FAI doing it that way.

No but we are playing some expansive attacking football, floodgates should open soon when the Danes tire a bit

Leaving a match 60 mins in while it’s all to play for? Best off without those supporters if you ask me

Would they not sell more shirts if they weren't ruined by that logo? And, being pedantic here, it isn't a true "replica" if it isn't the same as the one the players wear, no?

I've never left a match early. Ever. But I'm not going to castigate the guy for it. This is simply horrid stuff to watch.

Probably wouldn't sell as many more to make up the difference to the amount of money they get from Three

Young fella asked me to leave and couldnt blame him. Turgid ****e. Thank god for his club side who play good football or he would be turned off football for good.

Long just adding to his stats of games without a goal at this stage.

Players hungry to prove themselves should have been playing tonight not the eternally comfortable favourites.
