Address Bar suggestions

Is there any way the list of suggestions that drop down when typing in the address bar can be deleted? I find it irritating because sometimes I find that I click on the wrong suggestion from the list.

I tried that but all it does is move the highlighted suggestion up to the address bar.

Works fine for me in FF.

You must be talking about "prediction service". You can disable it and see if that is what you want, go:


Dots(top right on page) > Settings > scroll down to Advanced, expand it > disable "Use prediction service to help complete searches and URLs...."
