Yup (in facts my avatar is me in blue fighting Judo in competition), that's a pain in the tits too. I missed much of last year some injuries too. In fact last year was the first full year I've been out of competition since I began martial arts.

The trials and tribulations of getting older I guess

I mostly use the mobile version so don’t see avatars

Ok then here goes a big one.

My mother visited. She is down in A&E with my grandfather who is suspected of having cancer. I have spent the following few hours thinking who to write suicide notes too and what to say. I was thinking about killing myself tonight and I cried my eyes out. I spoke to a nurse and then went to bed for a while. Nearly got in a fight while waiting for meds and then spoke with a nurse for over an hour about how I felt. Just tried to speak to the one watching me but she said it would make no difference so righr now I'm lyint in bed pissed off. Update over.

My day was long. Up this morning, felt like crap. My nurse let me use the computer in the relaxation room, didn't have dinner and went back to bed. My parents visited in the afternoon so I got a few hours editing and distraction before I got to go down and see my grandfather.
He didn't know I was coming and to round the corner and see him sitting on a trolley crying was such a demoralizing sight. I sat there with him for a few minutes and tried talk to him and stay positive but he's not well. He can't eat and can barely talk. The cancer seems to be spreading around his body. My aunt came then so I went back to my ward and started beating the **** out of the punching bag in the gym in anger. My nurse was there supervising me and asked what was up because I wasn't even using the gloves so I told her and just broke down talking about how much I love my grandfather and how much it hurt to see him like that. He'll find out more tomorrow when he sees the doctor and I'm trying to stay positive but it seems terminal. I came back and feel so many emotions and not just the physical pain. I want to cut but I know I won't be allowed down to see him if I do. The nurses said one of them will take me down at some stage. Meanwhile I've got a review with a pain specialist and my consultant about my mental health which will be a ****show and I don't think I'll be getting out of here anytime soon.

It's just so unfair. Why does life do things like this? They say I'll understand when I'm older but this is a man who never smoked, rarely drank and took care of himself and is more than likely dying and yet someone like me who wants to die can't.

Sorry if I'm being upsetting or depressing but I need to vent. I want to cut so badly but know I can't. I hope if I update you guys tomorrow it'll be positive news.

    Happy ****ing Monday :(

Abed, in between acting as butler to one of the cats. In, out, in, out. .Thank you, cat, for keeping me mobile and active!

Wild wind and rain out there so no morning walk... Need to call my good neighbour the ferry man to ask if things are back to normal this week so I can send a shopping list in.. Also re a decision re the car which will hopefully soon metamorphose into an "island car". Tough decision but to be honest I am very very tired , so not leaving the island is an attractive idea and not new to me.

And I will be able to explore the parts I am unable to get to on foot.. Love that idea!

Shpud2, if you cut yourself you will have lost the last opportunity that you have to share time with your grandfather, so DON'T DO IT.

Still in my lovely hotel, slept most of yesterday so spent this morning in the gym followed by lunch, 4th day following a vegetarian diet and I think that i have gained weight (unfortunately)!

Keep ringing it. You’d be a monster not to hand a child’s phone back
I’m back in bed with a hot water bottle

Monday mornings suck. It's really quiet here at work and time is going by way too slowly.
Highlight of my day so far was receiving an email advertising "the best concealed carry waist gun holster on the market".
So I timed my tea break to have a good thorough read of that one. :pac:
I hate guns so I felt they had their work cut out straight away. But then as I read on it said "this holster comes with a spare magazine pocket that could be used for your keys and money".
So that obviously piqued my interest. I began to picture myself getting home in the evening and whipping the front door key out of my gun holster at lightning speed while my elderly next door neighbour looks over at me enviously.
Or.... next time I pop into Supervalu to get a can of coke it will be a nice surprise for the checkout girl when I grab the money from my gun-holster.
Anyway, in the end I scrolled further down to see photos of these holsters and sadly in the male pictures all the males have six-packs (of muscles, not coke) so I can only assume you need to have fantastic stomach muscles to buy one of these.
And since the over-indulgence during the Crimbo, I may well be precluded from purchasing one of these items.

Still, it was a nice dream while it lasted.

Back to work now. And even when work ends and I get home this evening I'll have to just take the keys out from my pocket, like a holster-less eejit.

2019 off to a bad start!

Back abed after kitchen and turf stack foray... Well, no longer a stack exactly.... a few bags left and there is abundance on the island at a good price.. I take great comfort in that !

Cat insists on coming too; leads the way then stops and rolls on his back in submission every few steps...clown!

Did a few small but satisfying jobs. YOU know, the kind of thing that you think about but never get round to.. Well I did !

Sorted re the car. It will be very strange to see wee yellow in the drive. Even stranger to drive it ONLY here! No idea when.
