Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I realise it's probably a how long is a piece of string type question, but can anyone guess how much it would cost to install 4 sensor lights around a bungalow, and maybe 2 more around a garage?
    TIA

Im not a sparks... but depends on where the feed is being taken from (how accessible it is) and how well you want the cables hidden.
Parts alone (6 lights +sundries).. about 200 and up depending how fancy you want the lights.
Expect to pay at least that again for an electrician to wire it (probably more - id be surprised if its less).
Expect to pay extra if access is a nightmare or the cable runs are long.

Not too helpful/exact, but i'd say its a good starting point.

    The other alternative is these

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B071718TYG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Four lights - no wiring - €40

Great in theory for an ambient light for 6 months of the year (summer) If its actual lighting your after these are not the way to go.

Probably a fair comment - but we have them. I had to move one in the drive because it would blind you when driving out.

Obviously the batteries and solar panels don't last forever but we've had ours up since January.

    Thanks for the advice/suggestions.
Those solar powered lights could be a good temporary solution.

Just to note these are at best 400 lumen

That's about half the light intensity of an old 60watt bulb. So not great on a good day.

Usually the spread of light from these is poor, they concentrate it on a narrow area, so they can seem intense at a certain angle, in a certain area, but they also have light pooling issues

They certainly have a place, but no substitute for wired fittings

The again you can pop the solar ones up yourself and there's no bill

I'm just not a fan unless it's an out house or something
