Varadkar taking a lot of flack for his ill-advised tweet which hinted Ireland might have to "help" the UK soon.

He's not really, very little actually. Who cares what the Express has to say.

He needs to stay away from that nonsense of responding to trolls - especially Brexiters.

The UK should worry more about the likes of Dyson fleeing the country despite selling the idea that Brexit was the road to paradise.

Seriously? It's the express. The vulgarity and ignorance of the tweet that Varadkar was responding to wasn't even questioned.. you know because everyone's opinions are equal these days. Even the village idiot gets heard and his opinion validated. No matter how puerile.

Really that's not flak. That's just the express being toilet paper.

A decent paper of record would have been embarrassed by the ignorance of a fellow countryman..

Shítpost Express article. Automatically considered a subversive propaganda rag article IMO with absolutely no Journalistic credibility whatsoever and not worth worrying about. Not only that but the brexitards lack of concern for genuine issue's will probably land em in an IMF bailout the way they're going anyways so Varadakar isnt wrong.

An article about 3 or 4 tweets giving out about what he said is him getting a lot of flack?

Dyson owns 33,000 acres in UK, one of the biggest land owners
    https://whoownsengland.org/2017/09/19/why-is-james-dyson-hoovering-up-land/

He aint going anywhere, but he is collecting millions of EU grant money for this land, and you can bet that he is unlikely to be paying much in way of taxes in UK.

He actually is a massive beneficiary of farm payments, and has asked post Brexit for the UK government to continue doing so.

Edit: he was actually the biggest UK recipient.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this Twitter account and related website.

    https://mobile.twitter.com/StandUp4Brexit/

50 conservative MPs have signed up so far with 4 in the last hour. It looks almost coordinated. Even if it isn't, there are 50 MPs pledged against Theresa Mays vision and pledged to an impossible Brexit.

Brexiteers will just dismiss this as more Project Fear.

No - the idea is that the WA will have a real backstop to guarantee no border, and a statement that the whole UK can negotiate to stay in a CU to avoid the real backstop ever being needed.

The UK will say that future CU will only be needed until their tech. based unicorn regime replaces it while also avoiding the NI backstop. This will never happen in reality, and if they ever negotiate a trade agreement outside the EU, they will have to bite the bullet and shaft Northern Ireland with an Irish Sea border, but that will be donkey's years from now and no-one in Westminster today cares (except the DUP).

Well put, this has to be the May strategy. It's stringing along the DUP now, not the EU.

Its interesting that your man Baker turned heel on his amendment plan, perhaps he was nudged by a colleague.

Is this linked to the fabled letters to the 1922 committee? Because if so, that's the number needed to trigger a no-confidence vote. With 2 to spare iirc.

That's going to be essential for Gibraltar if the border closes.

I meant in terms of business investment, not that he personally will be upping sticks.

Can someone please explain what I am missing :
The current impasse is the NI/Eire border, and the EU is pressing for a solution from the UK, in order to give them a deal, under the threat of a no-deal exit. But in a no deal event, the UK can, may as well, and so probably will, put a hard border in Ireland. So how has that paid off for the EU ?

It hasn't, but if the UK choose to go with a No deal over the border in NI then in all honesty they really never cared about the border in NI.

What was the alternative do you think?

Just imagine living in a country with the sense and vision to manage their resources like Norway did.

What resources has Ireland handed over to anyone?

The poster he was replying too has 28 followers.

I would have thought Varadkar would have better for doing that get into a spat with an idiot on twitter.
    It just looked petty.

Very silly. I don't understand why he felt the need to do that - now you have the chief Brexiteers like Kate Hoey and Brexit Central on his back.

That would be like a small nuke going off in their services industry, theres no way No Deal will be allowed, Mays strategy has to be to bring it right down to the wire then concede everything when its too late to debate, anything else is suicide. There must be thousands of business people telling her this.

That's nothing new; EU has had problem with UK's wish to spy on their own citizens previously and let's not even talk about how they handle information (passing everything on to the US no matter what etc.). In short UK can't be trusted with data simply because they can't be bothered not to abuse it.

We really have to get over offending offensive Brits.

Who cares if we upset Kate Hoey and Brexit Central?

Should we cancel gay marriage because it offends Breitbart?

I'm relieved that the Taoiseach (who I probably won't vote for) is able to deal with these Brexit clowns - who constantly threaten our economy any time we slag them back.

    Screw them.
No different to the types of things May and the Tories say in their actual parliament.

In other news, the National Audit Office has basically said that the lemmings are over the cliff, that is, it's too late to prepare for a 'hard Brexit' in March 2019, only a fraction of systems is in place.

    https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-latest-no-deal-theresa-may-border-force-criminals-national-audit-office-talks-a8598206.html

    The same article quotes:
And the Federation of Small Businesses said ministers were living in “dreamland” if they believed the ability to track and examine goods at the border would be in place for leaving the EU next March.

“Every day that passes brings us closer to the sobering realities of a no-deal Brexit that will be damaging and dangerous for our small firms,” said Mike Cherry, the FSB chairman.

We all know that they can't do it, we always knew. The EU team were never going to fall for that bluff.

Unfortunately, a lot of people in the UK have fallen for it, and it will be very hard to convince them that it was all nonsense and Project Fear is all true.
