How did you make your school website?

    Hello all,

I've agreed to help out with the school website. It's a bit of a mess as we're still using Scoilnet's services. They don't have much of a control panel so you can't click Wordpress and have a blog and fancy it up to be a website.
So we have our domain with one gang and a scoilnet site with them. We now want one site that would be easy to update (our own site is on Dreamweaver and we don't want to use that anymore as it can only be updated from one laptop).

So, just looking for opinions on what you do. We got an email from one company who are offering to make a site. Haven't checked the price yet but seems a shame to pay them for what looks like a simple Wordpress site. They give you an app as well.

Have other schools stayed with scoilnet? If they'd just update their system a little it would be grand to have a free site with them.

We use Wordpress. All staff have their own log ins. We primarily blog and our class pages are made up of posts that are tagged with that class. We had ours designed for a relatively cheap price as the designer had a connection to the school. I did end up changing how the website was managed though with less pages and more blog pages as that is far easier to update.
