Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

They won last week and are winning tonight - they got the momentum.

For the last year Duffy looks like our only chance of a goal, says it all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,246 ✭✭✭Esse85

Williams deserves to cost his team a goal due to that stupid hair style.

Richard Kee-Hoe will get us out of this mess. I watch those Englanders Sky Sports too much.

Stan was a more palatable period because we knew results not going his way would result in his dismissal. MON could have this job for life.

Fxxk off McClean with crap crosses. Its a bad joke at this stage.

Taxi for O Neil and Keane. Never felt as low as an Irish football fan.

Not even Stan was as bad as this.
    Steady on now!

Ireland: We got a clean sheet against Denmark...at home!!!

Gibraltar : Lol, how about three points lads.

I thought it couldnt get worse after Glen Whelan. Step up Cyrus.

Not his faulty though. Oneill is a tool.

No good. Gibraltar will have gone up to C!

Nobody cares anymore after us playing 10+ years in this style.

It's embarrassing and the fans and players are drained.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,600 ✭✭✭✭siblers

    It's a pity O'Neill didn't **** off to Stoke

Wales fans sing 'Sacked in the morning'

    If only

Hopefully the last game for the likes of McClean and Long, add nothing to the team outside of running around

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭fyfe79

Even if England weren't interested, Rice would still want to be insane to play for us.

Would McClean still get a game if he wasn't from Derry?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 932 ✭✭✭Yillan

A third striker. Nice one MON. You clown

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,820 ✭✭✭smelly sock

Its hard to fathom how McClean could be such a poor crosser. It really beggars belief. In fairness MON cant ne blamed for that but this mess ultimately lies at his door.

This is as dark a night as i can remember.

MON RK and especially Delaney OUT

That was low... but at the same time, look at that teamsheet. We were playing well below our potential ability there, so there was genuine hope someone else could do something with that team. Keane, Duff, Dunne, Finnan, O'Shea... even Kilbane and McGeady when playing at their best.

Whereas you look at our team now, and ya just can't see things getting much better any time soon... there's more of a sense that "this is our life now".

McClean is dire, does he get a game for Stoke? Honestly I don't know how he can cross so badly.

Sad to see so empty seats but it's a broken record at this stage, FAI needs to be overhauled from top to bottom. An embarrassment.

Think the low of the Staunton era was that game in San Marino. The one we won with the last kick. That was probably Cyprus at as strong as they’ve ever been, albeit still embarrassing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,047 ✭✭✭Unearthly

Wales should pick us off for 2nd soon enough

O'Neill is clueless, he's throwing the kitchen sink at it by lashing on all his strikers.

It's the static midfield and piss poor crosses into the box that are the problem.

As Calvin Harris said that was acceptable in the eighties

In fairness, Long is a better player than he gets to show in an Ireland shirt. He's just totally isolated up front alone, with long balls randomly lumped up to his general area to fight 2 or 3 other lads for. He's not a good finisher, but he's a better footballer than we see in green. Maybe if we actually tried to set up to use his attributes we might actually see something.

So that's a 5-2-3 then? With a RB in central midfield...

The players look disinterested., no energy no excitement. A new manager with a positive approach would spark these players into better performances and results.

Wales just carve through our defense.

We get a player running at theirs, he makes a meander around the side and then passes backwards

Surely this needs to be a turning point tonight.

    We are dire.

I know we are struggling for players, but this prehistoric football from decades ago has to stop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

You'd nearly hope for a mauling so Mon has nowhere to hide.

The formation is all over the shop.

Throw on all the CFs and hope for something but we've nobody to cross a ball.

Would be nice to hear John Delaney give his thoughts on the status quo but the FAI don't talk to journalists, do they?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,820 ✭✭✭smelly sock

McClean isnt a good footballer. Passionate but thats it.
