The point about mdh doing nothing is valid . We have just had the biggest insult ever in a non recession budget for workers. This should be a warm up for the general elections. Let them know we want change and have had enough. We need to start change now! Year after year after year of talking , get out on Friday and put down the marker. Enough is enough. Well I'm personally delighted I'm not getting disability allowance, or need a carers allowance.
The vast majority of people getting those allowances and benefits are entitled to them and more importantly depend on them. Some people are cheating the system for sure, but that happens in all walks of life, from tax fraud to corruption.

Casey's a pretty poor if not a completely awful candidate in a lot of ways, and you're right about a lot of this.

But. Here's the thing.

A Casey upswing will drive a lot of the leading politicians/journalist/NPCs nuts, and will represent a leader figure, out there who spoke the truth about this one thing, not a hypocrite, socialist sponger who lied about the LearJet on TV so that he can sponge off the Irish population for seven more years. More people will at the very least, be encouraged by this and will respond to this in a positive manner, as is happening right now.

We especially need this, because truth be told, Ireland is in a state of decline right now, and people need to call out what is going on for what it is.

Only then can we fix it.

I disagree about anything positive being achievable from this and while I agree with some of what Casey has said he's running an entirely negative campaign which I do not believe anything positive can come from.

And Casey is gonna get that done? I don't think so.

At the end of the day the ranters and ravers have to get out and vote in an election that matters to such issues.

For this one we need a well rounded, humane, secular, culturally connected, public servant.
We don't need someone who incites the mob when he needs to be noticed, former bagmen or egotists.

How is Ireland in a state of decline right now. There are issues and problems like every country but overall I think we're doing ok.
We certainly don't need the likes of Casey spouting bile. That was what Farage did in Britain and as soon as he got his way he disappeared. That kind of bigoted politics has never taken hold in Ireland in the past and it won't now.
