    Hello

    We live in the UK.

My Son was given some Irish State Savings Prize bonds and won a prize.
They have sent us out an Bank of Ireland issued cheque in his name for €50
I tried to cash it over the summer when back in Ireland but bank said I needed to lodge it to his account - he does not have an Irish € bank account.

Any suggestions of how we actually turn this cheque into cash? Seems alot of effort to open an account for him in Ireland to access the cash

    Thanks

Thanks SarahLG for getting in touch and asking your query here.

If the bank have sighted the cheque and the cheque restricts it being cashed or endorsed to another account, I'm afraid you would need to get in touch with the issuer and ask if they have alternative option available.

    Many Thanks
    Alison

I assume he does not have a UK bank account?
