Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Gas heating question

I grew up in a house with oil burning central heating, a water tank and emersion for heating...

I'm going to move into a house with gas heating, which has no tank... Will it provide instant hot water for the shower? Is this kind of system compatible with a nest thermostat?

I ask because while it will stay for the short-term, I may change it later on and need to plan around it.

Sounds like a Combi boiler, the hot water will not be instantaneous you will have a draw off of whatever water is in the pipework but there will be always hot water available as long as your boiler is working. It's a great system as in you only use gas to heat whatever water you use as opposed to heating a cylinder of water and only using a showers worth.
And yes you can use the Nest thermostat with this boiler.
