Eircom webmail and quota warnings

    Hi! After last week when eircom was down, I keep getting warnings about my quota on eir webmail. The warming is from postmaster@eir. I had about 1500 emails on my free eir webmail account. I have now deleted 1000 from my inbox, but keep getting emails from postmaster@eir each day saying that even more of my quota has been used up, even though I have deleted over 1000 emails. What is this about? I am afraid my email will crash. I can't really delete the remaining emails as I need them in terms of my records for the moment. Is there anything I can do here - deleting emails doesn't seem to work? There doesn't seem to be any support for this from eir at all. If anyone can help, I would be extremely grateful. Also, can you let me know how I can divert emails from my eir webmail account to my gmail account when people email me in future. Thanks.

    It sounds like the deleted mails are still sitting in the bin so are still using up your storage quota, try emptying the bin / trash and see if that helps.

    Are you accessing the eir mail via a web page or do you have the mail account added to a client like Windows mail or Mac mail?

    To divert mails to your gmail account you should be able to setup a mail forwarder in the eir webmail settings, when it looks for a forwarding address you just input your gmail address. (make sure you actually switch on the forwarder and not just add the address).

    Yeah they're in your bin folder. Empty it.
