hi, recently bought  three seater full leather sofa from Beechmount in Navan, just bought three months ago. Already there are some scratch marks on it, called retailer and they are accusing us (wife and myself) of causing the marks, through the type of jeans we are wearing. The retailer sent out an independent consultant to look at it and the first thing the guy asked is was it ok when delivered. We were honest and said yes but followed up by saying that all we ever did subsequenty was sit on it! the independetn guy just dismissed that and said it was customer liability. The retailer also refuses to repair, refund or replace the item even though it's under 1yr warranty. What can we do here if anything? Anyone out there best advice is not to buy from here.

Scratches generally don’t happen by themselves. Have you any idea what is causing them?

    Scratches on the fabric?
I suppose you could argue that the fabric isnt fit for purpose, but youd really need to find out what's causing the scratches,( studs on jeans, wallet or phone in your pocket) someone's shoe whatever,

Ok we have since learned that it's soft leather so could be prone to scratches but the retailer (Beechmount in Navan) didn't even advise or mention this when we were buying it. Not a trustworthy shop imo.
