Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I grew up in Alfreton and the nearest league team was Mansfield Town. Watched both teams regularly until I moved to Cork. Both of them are at home (Alfreton Town of the National League North v Fleetwood Town of League 1; Mansfield Town, League 2 v Charlton Athletic, League 1) and both would be big underdogs in these ties.

I used to love the FA Cup games back then (1970s and 80s) due to the excitement of one off matches against teams from different leagues, and the prospect of drawing a "big club" in the next round.

Good luck to both the Reds (Alfreton) and the Stags (Mansfield) :)

Alfreton Town lost 4-1 at home to Fleetwood Town, and Mansfield Town lost 5-0 away to Charlton in the replay :(

That's pretty much the end of my interest in this year's FA Cup.

Tranmere taking on Spurs at the moment on BT Sport 2. Son has gone close with an effort, as has Moura.

Looks like the Tranmere centre-back McNulty follows a similar training regimen to myself.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

What a hit from Aurier! 1-0 Spurs.

Update: Llorente makes it 2-0 early into the second half. Nicely set up by Son. Should be game over now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,019 ✭✭✭davycc

Aurier outside of the boot screamer best goal he will ever score
Fair play to little Juan foyth for reading the situation and assist

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Aurier makes it 3-0. He's enjoying himself out there.

And Son adds a fourth straight after. Tranmere might get hammered.

5-0. Llorente with a cool finish.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

And Llorente gets his hat-trick. 6-0.

Why is Poch bringing on Kane ffs? Could see a pissed off Tranmere player smashing into him.

Update: 7-0. Super finish from Kane.

Full-Time: It was a thrashing in the end. Spurs comfortable winners.

I didn't say otherwise but I really could have boiled an egg during the time it took. Presumably the 3 minutes will be added on.

Andy Carroll on for Arnie at West Ham and he is not happy.

Tbh I'd dump that slime ball in the bin.

In 50 minutes John Swift has put in a very good audition for a Premier league club to come looking for him imo.
He has shown good defensive positioning, great eye for a pass and good passing ability as well as good set piece ability.
He was a Chelsea youth who didn't make it there. He is 23 now and must have matured with experience.

Reading being two down against this Utd side just seems quite unfair. They seem to have better footballers.

Bournemouth back in the game 1-2

    1-3.

Don't be so defensive, Reading have 60% possession and are knocking the ball about well. Sanchez was pish, Mata got a peno but otherwise was nowhere. Fred is ****e obvs.

That's not what you said. Dig that hole though.

Mata got a peno and scored the peno

Reading have been poor up front

You have lost the subtlety in your (word missing) United fans on these threads now Harry so it is rather tedious and a waste of your typing really.

United are 2-0 up I don't think they care about possession. I saw the FH. And reading looked decent but United were playing good football.

Liverpool outpossess City and all of a sudden Posession is a stat that is the measurement of the match.

Reading do not have a good enough front line it's true. But then Utd have Lukaku (90m) Sanchez (500k a week), Rashford so they should score but the general play, esp in their defensive third is shoddy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,191 ✭✭✭✭Shanotheslayer

Reading should have made it 1-1 after the counter from Lukaku stumbling but failed.

It was poor from the reading forward.

Possession and a missed opportunity doesn't equate to better footballers though.

United didnt get out of first gear with mostly a second string .2-0 handy win.

Reading caused United no real trouble. All that possession means **** all when a team are doing nothing much in the final third.
