Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ya Watford have a shocking record v City including zero wins v them in Premier league era the only thing they have got going for them is they at least got on the scoresheet the previous 3 times they've faced. While it is true Watford have minimal hope at the same time due to that all the pressure will be on City.

Pressure will only be on them if they win the League & get to the Champions League Final, regardless of the Champions League Final, if City fail to win the league then they’ll blitz Watford I predict.

The final of this tournament is on this evening.

Not sure anyone noticed, I only realized myself in the last few hours.

Nobody cares, sure the City PL win was forgotten about the next day over here. Not a peep

I care. Been bricking it all day. Cant wait for it, potential history in the making here!

If MC win today - they'll the first team to win the English domestic soccer treble.

City are so good that they're making English football boring. It's the FA Cup final today, it should be a big event and occasion but I don't think I'm even going to bother watching it because I know it's going to be a dull one-sided procession.

The way they get a stranglehold on a game and control brings them all kinds of success, but jaysus it's dull to watch for someone who doesn't follow them.

Watford win for the "romance" would be good but a City win means Liverpool v City in the community shield which is also good. In short any outcome is good.

Great pre match spectacle to be fair

Odd so many empty of those red seats in the middle.
    Those the VIP ones?
    Surely questions to be asked?

Be fitting if a Daithi Silva goal won City the FA Cup after the Kompany played such a crucial role in their title win

    Well that's that so.

What's the point in VAR if they don't use it?

Ball smashed off Kompany's forearm and a little push from Silva to set himself up for thay goal.

They did use VAR for the penalty shout

News to me. I didn't see any stop in play.

    Ball smashed off Kompany's forearm

    Doesn't necessarily mean it's a foul

Funny his arm didn’t look to be in much of a natural position to me. It was raised, making a bigger target to block the football by virtue of a deliberate act on his behalf. But.. not a penalty

    Who gets that one?

I'd be raging if I was Gabriel Jesus and they gave it to Sterling.

I didnt either but they said on commentary that they did

I know but the ref should still have a look, shouldn't he?

    Sterling steal that goal?

Not sure it was fully over

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 25,839 ✭✭✭✭Strumms

Game over. If I was a Watford fan I’d be disappointed. They’ve just sat on the edge of their penalty area for 40 minutes hoping to catch city on the break. Never going to get far with this attitude.

Watford should have been 1 up, missed a handy 1-on-1 when it was 0-0

Reckon that goal will be given to Sterling.

City too good so far. Pity Perreira didn’t stick away that guilt edge chance early on, might have had a game then. Not Watfords fault, city are just ridiculously strong and are on some run.

That was never a handy 1 v 1 Ederson had the angle restricted greatly before the player received the pass. Most players wouldn't convert those.

Most players when one on one with a keeper score. The attacker Peirera simply had a brain freeze moment. It was a nothing attempt. Kicked AT the keeper rather then a good save but Ederson sure did what he had to.

When a keeper is 7/8 yards from a player receiving the ball, I'd fancy/expect the attacker to score it. Was hit at perfect height for a keeper

Such a NOTHING attempt by Peirera

    Sterling given it.

With 30 minutes yet to be played, Watford tiring and City dominating possession and looking hungry for more, I can’t se it NOT being more.

Great stuff from Citeh ya have to say, Pep looks to have sealed the sole trophy he hasn't won yet.

Really thought Watford would have had more about them today. Pity Wolves didn’t get to the final instead. Gomes in goal was also a sentimental jesture that back fired.

    Yup

Wow 6 goals, the magic of the cup and all that.
Shame Wolves never held out in the semi's they are a better side than Watford. I doubt Troy Deeney gave a mouthy interview after this game tho.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,007 ✭✭✭greenfield21

I don't know why I'm not surprised at that result, I think wolves would have been better opposition but even then are probably glad they avoided that embarrasement. Delafou is a really good player and the only one who could keep up with this city team.

Well walking around Piccadilly gardens there you wouldn't have a clue there was a team from Manchester in or had won the final
