Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Teams for Arsenal vs Man Utd, live tonight on BBC One...
Arsenal XI: Cech; Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Koscielny, Kolasinac; Ramsey, Xhaka, Torreira; Iwobi, Lacazette, Aubameyang.

Manchester United XI: Romero; Young, Lindelof, Bailly, Shaw; Herrera, Matic, Pogba; Lingard, Lukaku, Sanchez.

Sanchez will win me over a good bit if he helps United win this game. Would be fantastic if ends up being the difference maker.

Have a bad feeling about this one though. Feel like Lacazette will cause problems. Can see this ending up being a draw and a replay which may not be the worst thing.

Sore-looking fall from Sokratis. Looks like he's coming off for Mustafi.

2-1 in the game between Bristol City and Bolton with O’Dowda equalising a couple of minutes after Bolton had taken the lead. That one started ten minutes earlier than Arsenal v United

    Arsenal classically arsenaling this game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Arsenal are dire at defending. Good pass from Lukaku but proper defending makes that pass not possible.

2-0 now. I like Emery but boy does he need to sort out the caverns of space in that defence.

Christ; that Arsenal defence is woeful. Utd strolling through them there.

Feck. Aubameyang scores a few minutes before half-time. 2-1. Nice work from Ramsey.

    Brilliant from Ramsey

Good game for the neutral as they say. Should be two all.

    I thought Christmas was over?

These guys are maintaining the season of goodwill for United fans. What a present Ole was!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,023 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

    That was just sooo eeeeasy!

Even when Pogba picked it up, it looked like he'd still have a bit to do, and then everyone just sort of ran along at a nice safe distance and gave him nothing to worry about at all. Was just allowed to run along in a nice straight line straight at goal, and have a shot. Absolutely horrendous play. Surely one player - one! - could have gone to him maybe?

    Kolasinac is fairly pathetic.

Ten minutes of stoppage time. Enough time for a goal or two.

TBH I'll be happy if it stays as is:p

3-1 at Full-Time. Great result. Expected this to be a much more difficult tie. Arsenal were unlucky to lose Sokratis early on but they didn't show much aside from a brief spell when they chased an equaliser.

Pleased that Sanchez got on the scoresheet and Lukaku did well. The attacking options are really tasty at the minute when you add in Pogba, Rashford and Martial. Still concerns about the defence but things are looking good at present.

Lovely to enjoy the rest of the weekend cup games knowing United are in the draw.

Watching the second half, two things struck me...it's a very nice United jersey and I have no idea where Guendouzi was supposed to be playing.

He was left back, right back, centre midfield, left wing, holding midfielder picking the ball up off the centre backs and it was an awful tackle on Pogba to get booked.

    and Waghorn scores for Derby.

Wolves make 6 changes for their game v Shrewsbury (okay), but Watford have made 10 for Newcastle which is madness, what do Watford think they are competing for this season?

Been frequenting this forum well over ten years as a United fan, and had earlier in the evening expressed the hope that Lille would get a result against Marseille. Nice to know my posts make such an impression. :pac:

He does it for every goal, no matter the team! I don't mind the poster, he is a valuable poster and contributes a lot but the !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! everytime a goal is scored and updates on every incident in a game we are all watching
is a tad irrationally annoying for me!

Full time in Accrington. 0-1 to Derby. Both sides finishing with ten men.

Nothing really appealing at 3pm. City v Burnley probably the pick.

    any televised game at 3?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,630 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Nice Guy

Don't think there are televised games at 3 unfortunately. Millwall vs Everton is on BBC 1 from 5.30.

Keen to hear how Ireland's Ronan Curtis does against QPR. Hoping he makes a good impression as I think there's a decent chance of an upset in that one.

Hoping Wimbledon get a result again West Ham tonight. Not just for Cup progress, but might give them a boost and confidence for their current religation battle.

Wimbledon v West Ham on Eir or BT this evening.

Bit of a bore fest in the 3pm kickoffs.

8 games with 3 goals between them at halftime.

1-0 to City and 2-0 to Swansea.

And Shrewsbury take an early second half lead at home to Wolves - potential upset.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,401 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

    Goals coming now.

Middlesbrough also 1-0 up at home to Newport and Gillingham have pulled one back away to Swansea. And City double their lead as I type.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,401 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

Watford in front away to Newcastle and de Bruyne makes it 3-0 for City.

Portsmouth beating QPR 1-0 for another potential upset by a League 1 side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,401 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

Shrewsbury double their lead over Wolves through the fantastically named Luke Waterfall but Wolves pull one back.

    Doncaster 1-0 up against Oldham.

Swansea make it 3-1 and City running amok against Burnley with a Kevin Long og making it 4-0.

Brighton v West Brom the only one going to a replay as it stands. And QPR level too as I type that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,592 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

For the second shrewsbery goal, the corner taker whips notes out of his jocks has a read then plants the ball straight onto the scorers head..

It's on Sportsnet Ontario, they show all the goals as they come in too

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 686 ✭✭✭DVD-Lots

    Get in Oldham!!!! KTF!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 686 ✭✭✭DVD-Lots

    aaaaaaaaaaaaand it's gone. Balls.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,401 ✭✭✭✭Collie D

4-1 to Swansea and 5-0 to City.

Oldham level at Doncaster but go behind again from 90th minute penalty.

    Watford win 0-2 at Newcastle.

Brighton v West Brom finishes 0-0.

Matt Doherty equalises for Wolves in injury time.

    Final whistles being blown.

Newport equaliser with a late late strike.
