    Hi RicherSounds,

I'm decorating my bedroom and I'm looking for a recommendation and prices from you.

I have a 24" monitor and I'd like to get something to deliver quality sound that I could connect my PC and XBox to (either via S/PDIF, 3.5mm jack, an adapter or with HDMI pass-through for video).

I was thinking I might have to use an adapter that takes in video and audio via HDMI and outputs:
    • video via HDMI to the monitor; and
    • audio via S/PDIF or a 3.5mm connection to whatever you recommend.

The PC is connected to the monitor Via DVI-D and to the existing speakers via a 3.5mm connection

I was wondering if you could recommend some nice speakers (stereo or 2.1 preferably) or a small (in physical size) soundbar, if you think that would be appropriate.

The main use would be for everyday PC use, gaming and possibly watching TV shows or movies on either if I'm sick in bed.

    Hope you can help.

    Many thanks,

    Ken

    Hi Rael.

    Thanks for the post.

You could check over some of the Tibo active speakers like the Tibo Plus 3 priced at £179.00

Or the bigger brother the Tibo Plus 3.1 priced at £199

For a soundbar there is the Sony HTC290 with wireless sub priced at £179.00

Let me know if I'm in the right ball park with any of the above.

Thanks for the recommendations, I'll have a look.  The Tibo Plus 3.1's look good due to all their inputs, no messing around with adapters :)

Also,  what is the Acoustic Energy Aego Soundbar like?  I heard good things about their speakers previously.

    Hi Ken,

thanks for the post and apologies for the delay getting back to you..:o..

The Aego is a decent soundbar but TBH it's not the same quality as their older speakers used to be - but again it's just £219 / €239 for the soundbar and a separate active sub, so it's difficult to compare - but if you wanted a high quality dedicated soundbar and were prepared to forgo the sub I would look towards the Q Acoustics Media M4 way before the Aego:

Thanks again and drop us a line if we can assist in any way,
