    It’s normally done using the Mk1 Eyeball method and carefully following the drawings and instructions.
    The fuselage is normally quite straightforward but logos and livery markings usually have reference points on the drawings for specific points, ie a certain feature of the design is 12” aft of a certain lap joint and 18” above a certain row of rivets on a stringer etc and once all these referenced points are in the correct position the rest of it should also be correct. They normally mark it and measure it again to make sure they’re correct before they start spraying but it does occasionally go wrong and they have to strip it down and start again.
    They didn’t mention it on the clip above as it seemed to be just a fuselage repaint but it can get a lot trickier when they paint the wings and tail. In these cases it’s usual to remove the flight controls and spray them separately as the tolerances are even tighter when it comes to these surfaces. They then have to be reweighed and balanced before reinstalling them on the aircraft.

    Since the Ryanair fleet is so young, I imagine most will still be wearing their delivery paint. There was a previous version of the present livery that had some detail differences, for example in the placing of the fuselage titles, and the angle of the harp was also changed at some point. This may account for the variation mentioned.

    The 'angel' on the harp was also given bigger tits some time ago, likely long enough ago for everything to be repainted by now.

    Yes a long time ago so all have the new logo but if you look closely you'll see a significant number of tails are inconsistent i.e. aligned and tilted differently.

    And "tits" is so crass, jugs or baps would be more eloquent.

    The tilting of the Ryanair harp/angel was done officially in 2014 as part of an overall brand view to help launch the 'Always Getting Better' campaign. The shades of blue and yellow were both toned down, the app and website were relaunched and the harp/angel pointed skyward slightly, this reflected on the livery of new deliveries which is why there's a bit of a mix these days. 

    Unfortunately Aer Lingus hasn't been quite as consistent, the shamrocks on some of the A330s, particularly the -200s have been applied horribly during repaints over recent years. Every repaint featured a misshapen, poorly positioned or wrong sized shamrock on the tail. The new A333s delivered fresh from Toulouse are painted perfectly, it's only repaints done at home that appear to suffer.

    In his original Facebook post, Andy McKay does give some inkling that an Euro white scheme is in the offing. Here's what he said:

    "THIS IS IN NO WAY AN OFFICIAL DRAWING!!! I was lucky enough to have a quick chat with a gentleman who has worked with Aer Lingus for many years. We briefly discussed the EI rebranding and from what i gathered this is what the colour scheme may look like. I don't have any info on a new logo or font, but I gather that the engine cowlings, tail and rear fuselage will be green!!! Euro white strikes again! Feel free to leave you thoughts and comments below"

    Like others here, I really hope this scheme doesn't happen, but at this stage, I'm beginning to suspect the worst, and I fear we may lose the lovely distinctive green livery that makes the Aer Lingus brand visible at airports across Europe and the USA, to anonymity and obscurity.
