It's an interesting case study in terms of pricing as the 3DS went and did the opposite of last-gen ecosystems by getting expensive immediately versus there being something of a grace period before prices get silly. Granted, 3DS was caught n the middle of a resurgence in popularity during the pandemic, mixed with modability getting even easier than ever, so its premium makes sense to extent given the spike in demand, but hasn't seem to have calmed down at all really in the last couple years as everyone predicted.
You can get a Switch and a couple games for what just the 3DS itself is commanding these days.
