Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jaysus, that is far from misery. That is one of the happiest stories I've heard on the Late Late!

Ah it was a lovely segment. My brother had adult leukaemia when he was 27, and I was his bone marrow doner at 17. That was 16 years ago and he’s flying and has had 3 kids since :) so definitely touched an emotional nerve with me <3

So the last half hour was grand . Why?
It was left to the kids
Tubirdy needs to get the boot

Actually enjoyed all that. Unexpectedly enough. Thought Ryan did very well tonight. He seemed a lot calmer than previous years. He seemed to take the time to enjoy the children rather than racing on to the next thing.

    Plus no Billy Barry Kids

    Not one Christmas song

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,068 ✭✭✭Tipsy McSwagger

Without doubt the worst Toy Show ever.

He says “Happy Christmas”, first sign of it.

I think it's nice to have non Christmas songs. We will be bombarded soon enough with Wizard,Slade etc.etc.

A distinct lack of Christmas songs, the theme of this year's show ultimately fell flat.

There was no themes in those days and it was great.

    Edit: the theme was toys.

The Toy Show has lost it's purpose

Without doubt the worst Toy Show ever.

The set looks very flimsy too. In some other years there was much more of a 3D effect, with not using extra space.

    Late Late, absolutely underwhelming ++.

Jaysus, that is far from misery. That is one of the happiest stories I've heard on the Late Late!

    Can imagine the production meeting:
‘OK Ryan, interesting idea, but maybe instead of the grieving mothers we go back to the drawing board and look for a different angle’

And the most overrated song of all time, Fairytale of New York

Grand Toy Show. The cynicism and how seriously people take a "Toy Show" not at all surprising in this neck of the woods. Some very unusual people out there.

Ah here too many Scrooges on this thread! It's the Toy Show what do you expect. I thought Ryan was much better than previous years not as hyper. The one criticism I would have is that the camera angles were very poor. Most of time the kids had backs to camera.

Highlights:Michael from Kerry, Scott and his cousin, Leitrim Culchie, singing and dancing within reason

Lowlights: circus thing, subdued (sober?) crowd, ADHD host, lack of Christmas

    Overall rating: 6.76/10
