Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    @Patww79

Possible to Debloat Xiaomi MIUI without root, just use ADB.

Also most MIUI system ads can be disabled.

Have both the Redmi Note 5[WHYRED] and 3[Kenzo].
    ^^^ Both running custom roms.

LOL, funny comment in a thread and forum dedicated to Android Devices which mainly means phones.

Names in brackets are the device code names.

Running final Resurrection Remix Oreo on my RN5. Based on LOS.
Running Pixel Experience Pie on RN3 (Backup and media player device).

Had LineageOS on the RN3 for over a year and was very happy with it.

Went with RR on RN5 because official LOS wasn't available when I was installing, has more customization than LOS and just stayed on that.

If you're worried about bloat apps then Xiaomi won't be for you anyway. These are all MIUI phones and even their Android One handsets come with extra garbage on them.

I went from a Nexus to a Note 4 & I don't notice the bloatware. Yes it's there but it doesn't intrude or cause problems. I nearly got an A1 because of the comments about MIUI but I actually like it.

No, bloat is absolutely no issue at all once you know what you're at and disable things but a lot of people still have it as a big issue when buying.

I think the same applies to MIUI. I installed a launcher of my choice, phone & text apps of my choice & the phone is the same to use as the Nexus - all without needing to root.

MIUI does take a little learning but then it offers a lot of customisation. I like the quick ball, split screen & the second space options. I went from pure Android but my next phone will definitely be another Xiaomi. So much phone for so little cost.

MIUI/EMUI/ETC are no more or less intrusive than the likes of touch Wiz or HTC sense, intact I'd rather either mi or EM over touct wiz any day.

Yes had a play the day they launched. Lovely phone, the ceramic back and aliminium body give it a super premium hand feel, a lot slimmer and easier to manage than I'd expected. Didn't feel very big in my hand and I usually prefer a smaller phone. I'd definitely stick a case on it though as it's very glossy and I'd say it's slippy enough at times. Camera seemed decent, the selfie cramera might take some getting used to with the whole flipping it to use thing but I take about 4 selfies a year so won't really bother me too much.

It's definintely on my maybe list for an upcoming upgrade.

Cheers man...I owned the nexus 4 back in the day which was also had a mind of its own sliding off the furniture!! I think you get a case with the phone which is decent enough quality...You're like myself so regarding the selfie camera :D

How did you find MIUI or did you get a chance to have a good play around with it?

I'm using a phone with EMUI and MI seemed similar enough to that to be honest.
There was an app tray, seemed very zippy but with a 845 and 6gb of ram you'd expect that. I'd probably throw on Nova or Pixel launcher anyway so the overlay wouldn't really mean a lot to me to be honest.

I'd prefer if every major manufacturer used used stock android but at least these days the overlays they do use are fairly minimal.

Bluetooth 5.0 and Touch Screen on AirDots Youth Edition

    Not bad for approx $35(/€30).

Something to keep an eye out for, wonder will they see a release here with Three in the future?

    Edit: -
Already available but over priced (€53.29) on aliexpress: -

    More sellers, priced approx €35

But any of the stores a reputable place to buy.

I have QCY Q29 Pro, so in no rush to buy these, will wait till I see some reviews. Plus with 11/11 delays in posting, I wouldn't see them till January.

It doesn't it has a crappy mediatek processor, and other mistypes on the page, incl of calling it Redmi 3.

    And the live-stream is broken!

Edit: - back again and in the UK Launch it is a bundled Redmi 6A

Recap Mi 8 Pro Global, Band 3, Redmi 6A Bundle and the scooter are the products launched in the UK.

    + Dozen other products.

Did the launch the robot vacuum in the UK?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,657 ✭✭✭corkie

    Xiaomi UK: - https://www.mi.com/uk/index.html

Good range of products (at inflated prices compared to online),
unlike here where they only have a partnership with Three.

As well as the products mentioned in launch: -

Pocophone F1, Mi A2, Mi A2 lite, Redmi 6, Redmi Note 6 Pro specs /r/xiaomi
    and Redmi Note 5 (4/64gb) ~~ £229/€264 <<< Example of inflated price.

Make sure you're logged into your Mi Account.
First come first served with a very limited number of phones at that price.

I clicked Buy within 1 second of it changing from "Coming Soon" to "Buy" - instantly got out of stock. Now could be that others clicked a lot quicker than me, but i reckon they were only giving 1 away !

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,498 ✭✭✭Harika

There are thousands clicking that button, guess the chances are low.
Anyway the prices are not competitive compared to honorbuy

    e.g. MIA2 6/128 319 Pound to 279 Euro
    Pocophone 6/128 blue 349/316
