Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    All over the news currently.

The chairmans helicopter crashed and exploded following the game this evening.

No word yet on who was on board, though Sky are saying it was designed for up to 20 people, and typically carried the chairman and his family home after matches.

    Horrific news.

    Doesn't look good at all.

20? Some size of a chopper.

Hope it was fast if indeed they are dead.

Some people just don't have a clue, do they? You'd have thought, with United's history, they'd steer well clear of making such a cheap joke.

Imagine the faux outrage if supporters of any other club made that kinda "joke"!

Shocked and saddened for Leicester and all affected.

Disgusting that some people will go to any length to make themselves feel relevant tweeting stuff like this. Old photo.

Remember Matthew Harding? The Chelsea chairman's helicopter crashed on it's way from a game at Bolton. Alas copters are the aviation motorbike - quick, effective, cheap and absolutely deadly when something goes wrong.

Sky News reckoned he was not. You'd imagine it would be known who was on board and that the people who need to know do know - everyone else is speculating at this point.

So sad, hopefully their can be some survivors despite how unlikely that is.

I thought Gary Lineker did a fantastic job in horrible circumstances on MOTD. You could see it was getting to him but he carried on and was great. Respect.

I’d say the delay in an official statement is that they want to advise families first in Thailand, timezone mean it happened during the night there so you’d imagine it could take a bit longer to notify everyone who needs to be told.

    Very sad.

definitely. his body language spoke volumes but he did a great job :(

had always assumed MOTD was filmed a bit ahead of airing to factor in any need for minor editing, so even more respect for him and the others for braving that live.

Hate to speculate but BBC commented on air reports that Claude Puel may have been on board too.

Regardless, it’s a dark day for football. Hopefully not as serious as first made out. Shocking

What Glen Hoddle news? Last I heard he was responding well to treatment. Hardly a sad day for football if that's the case. Lots of people suffer illness and have treatment. Especially as they get older. Just because of his former profession, it doesn't mean "football" as an entity is any worse off by his current plight. Sure, it's upsetting for the man and his family but it's not really comparable and is barely even newsworthy. He should be allowed his privacy to recover and best of luck to him.

Well not really. They don't seem to record flight logs well. Anyone could have taken a ride like a taxi to wherever it was headed

Had a massive heart attack apparently and is still in serious condition.

Yup, also if they confirm for example that someone wasn’t on board, it kind of confirms whoever they don’t mention was.

Saying that, I would expect an announcement soon, it’s afternoon in Thailand now.

He is a very important business man, and his death will have a huge impact in Thailand. There are probably a lot of things that need clarification before an announcement is made, so not to impact the stock markets on Monday.

I think that’s more than likely a case of it’s definitely bad news and they aren’t releasing that yet.

If people survived it would’ve been announced surely? No matter what the condition?

    Horrible situation

Dreadful news. In his short time in Leicester he brought joy to the people thanks to what he did for LCFC and he also brought employment to the city.

Very sad alright, a tragedy first and foremost for the family, and, less importantly, will have ramifications for LCFC.

Id imaging that there is a kit of shuffling and putting people in positions of power overnight in King Power. The vacuum at the top will have to be filled, and power will have to be consolidated. If his son was at the game (as he often is) he typically wouldn't travel in the helicopter with the boss,so he'll have to.get back and consolidate his position or someone else will.
These guys are very powerful men, but would also have powerful enemies. The air accident investigation may be interesting....

Why has this still not been clarified by the BBC yet?

I get why they would be slow to release details of who was on the helicopter, but surely they are aware of the noise online about Puel.

Condolences to the families and LCFC. Matthew Hardings anniversary was last week, and this mirrors it in many ways. Both men helped bring their respective clubs back from the brink, and of course the way they perished.

So tragic and I think all football fans have a place in their heart for leicester for that season, it was truly fairytale stuff.

Blooody hell? So it’s not sad that somebody has a life changing massive heart attack. Just because he’s responding to treatment does not mean it’s an easy road ahead for him.

I wouldn’t just normalise a heart attack the way you did either. If he had died would you have said “sure people die everyday “?

As for being newsworthy, of course it is. He’s an ex England manager and as a kid growing up in the 70/80s is a great player of the era.

He seemed like the modern day perfect chairman.
Invested heavily in the club, but was very loyal and giving to the area, donating millions to the local hospital and university.
He even gave all the fans a free beer on his 60th birthday, and would have free mince pies out for the Christmas games.
A sad day for Leicester fans and for fans of football as the game needed more like him.

It's quite remarkable. Harchester adopted Leicester as their team to use for games, and Leicester eventually turned into Harchester themselves. I'm not saying that as a joke, its just the stuff that has happened Leicester over the last 5-6 years has been like a running series of Dream Team

You'd have to think that the lack of news is because the crash and fire were so bad, that they have no idea who was on the helicopter. Even the numbers are sketchy

Didn't think of that - it's an insightful thought. However, it seems unlikely that they wouldn't have worked out the numbers by now.

The silence could also be a cultural phenomenon?
