Which would you recommend to do. Pump the cavity with beads or foam.

With the beads, i can get the seai grant, but which would be better.

How much of a difference will it make.

whats the difference between bonded beads and ordinary beads. ( complete novice)

Is there anything else that I should consider with the beads? Is there different types or quality. Can the house be insulated during the winter with the beads or should I wait until the summer time next year?

New build? Retrofit? How wide cavity? Empty or partially fillled? Cavities properly closed with cavity closers or windows?

    Bonded beads:
    - NSAI certified with a bunch of caveats, see the NSAI certs for details
    - Won't destroy your house
    - Cheap-ish

    Unbonded beads
    - Cheap
    - Might pour out of random holes in your building fabric (e.g. during window replacement)
    - Are these even sold any more?

    Closed cell foam
    - Expensive
    - Not NSAI certified for masonry cavity retrofit
    - Might improve air tightness
    - Might hold your walls together, or push them apart, or crack the plaster, or rot the wall ties if moisture collects around them

    Open cell foam
    - Some combinations of qualities of the above

problem with beads and foam is that you never really know what you actually get

“I can’t pay my staff or mortgage with instagram likes”.

Get details of the exact products. Find the NSAI or BBA certs online for that exact product in that exact application. Read them fully. Get the supplier to confirm in writing that they will comply with all the conditions on the certs. Supervise installation.

Since you asked for more detail...
