Recommend a debt collector -owed money ex partner

Hello not sure if this is the right forum. I'm owed money from an ex partner ( debt acknowledged and said in writing it will be paid back in full) However no payment since 1/8/18. Not sure a solicitors letter is of any use. Has anyone used a debt collecting service that could pursue this.

This isn't a consumer issue, and you would need a court judgement to have any chance of enforcement anyway.
