Ziggy I was waiting til after my booking visit and scan too. Then felt much more confident. Sorry to hear you feel so tired still, it really is very hard to function with that.

Regarding maternity jeans H&M in Marshes Shopping Centre in Dundalk has a good selection.

First they came for the socialists...

Thanks Dixie hoping it will pass as my house is a tip and it's not going to clean itself 🙈

Anybody else killed with thrush? I had it throughout my whole last pregnancy and have it solidly now over a week. Apparently there is a shortage in the Canestan pessary due to supply from the UK so I am just using the cream but it's not curing me! Haven't had a chance to get to the doctor with work but during my last pregnancy they just said use Canestan.

I had it recently after a course of antibiotics- when I mentioned it to my consultant (the leaflet with the cannesten says not to use the applicator while pregnant, I was checking this with her) - she was just getting out her prescription pad to write me a script for something else because cannesten is scarce. I had gotten it no problem, but I’ve heard from friends that this isn’t always the case.
My point is, they can prescribe you something different!

I did not mean any offense in that comment at all and I know many women who do bf exclusively with no issues but I also know many who struggle and persist even though they are miserable. I just want to be prepared, it is my first baby.
My wording was meant to be lighthearted not insulting so apologies if I have irked you.

I’m not a bit insulted, but I think it’s important that people who have no personal experience of breastfeeding know that it’s very manageable, and that it doesn’t always come with problems.

I'm using acidophilus it's fine for pregnancy but obviously check with your own doctor

You know what, I think i have been overthinking it so much that I actually have worried myself into thinking I will have problems with it. I will know soon enough I suppose :)

Im just going to go ahead and jump on here too...I'm 14 weeks, baby number 2. Started a new job last week (havent broken the news yet), its not super labour intensive but im on my feet more than i would have been before. But by night time my hips/lower back are ACHEING. Then fine again in the morning! I had nothing like this the whole way through last time. Does anyone else have anything like this?! I feel its a bit early for these kind of pains...

I'm 16 weeks on number 4 but I'm already very sore, Pelvic girdle pain is very bad, I'm dreading what I'll be like in 20 weeks, I don't remember getting it so early on my others!
I'm on my feet all day too, The joys of it 😀

The best thing I did with my first baby was to do a half day breastfeeding course. It was well worth the time and money, to get to know what to expect

I actually have that class booked, glad to hear it is informative

Anyone using a Doppler? I was totally against them but caved and bought one and to my surprise I could hear the heartbeat straight away. Was really reassuring ðŸ˜

I have one and love it. Used it for most of last pregnancy too.

My dreams are nuts, I am waking as tired as I went to sleep. Its really not sustainable. I am so tired all the time and have a 14 month old so can't rest as much as I need to. He has been waking at 5am the past while, so one of us gets up with him, then when he naps we get back into bed and the other one gets up when he wakes. We spend most of the weekend napping! I am in bed an hour now trying to relax but it's impossible. My booking appointment is on Friday, can't wait!

Loveinapril I'm the exact same soooo tired literally need a nap every few hours. My son is 9 so it's much easier to have little catnaps. I can only imagine how you're coping with a 14 month old. I'm still so nauseated too not really vomiting but just feel sick thought it would pass at this stage.

Had my third scan yesterday, so am definitely 15 weeks, and everything looking good. I’m also very tired. But come 10 o clock, I seem to get a second lease of life, and I love a bit of silence when everyone is in bed, so I never go to bed quite as early as I should!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,919 ✭✭✭ziggy23

Had my booking visit today everything went well got some adorable pictures of baba. They put me a few days ahead too so I'm 14 weeks and 2 days.
How's everyone feeling? I'm not as nauseated but noticed I feel sicker at night time 🙈

I am waking up to pee more and my dreams are insane- last night I dreamt I had sex with my husband's brother (nightmare!). Solidarity with you having a toddler too.

Oh dear lord, nightmares like that are the last thing I need ha

It’s the peeing that’s waking me and I’m struggling to go back asleep then

Yep, my brain just kicks into "what have I got to do today?" at 3am.

My dreams are mad too!! Any of you feeling movements yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 17 NewMom19

I'm glad i'm not the only one finding it hard to get back asleep. I can be awake for hours, have tried podcasts etc to try bore me to sleep, then alarm goes off and its zombietown for the day!

I've been having the mad vivid dreams too, they are exhausting! Nearly 16 weeks here and the tiredness hasn't passed yet. Very emotional too. Pregnancy number 2 is hard!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,818 ✭✭✭jlm29

I’m sleeping like a log! It’s an awful pity my three year old arrives in most nights and disturbs me though

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,818 ✭✭✭jlm29

That’s what I get now for bragging. Up half the night with a screeching (nothing wrong only boldness) small toddler.

As an aside, I went to Debenhams yesterday to pick up a few bits of maternity wear. Apparently they no longer do maternity wear. Gah! I always found it to be the most reliable source of clothes!

We are having a few bad nights with our toddler too. she will sleep away in our bed but she kicks a bit so i'm trying to get out of the habit. not easy though! esp when they are teething as you just want to comfort them. and get some sleep!

can i ask what supplements (if any) you are all taking? i have been taking Pregnacare but just curious if there are other options.
