I’ve been asking questions over on the main farming forum, but said I’d ask the question here on a specialist sheep trailer , small little p8, single axel trailer, is it suitable for carrying one or two rams to the mart, or are they any good at filling with 12-13 butchers and transporting around ? What are the single axel trailers like to tow compared to the twin axel ?

Good luck reversing it;). Tidy trailer for behind a car or van. Should carry the 10-12 lambs or whatever easily. Id tje money is there for it,spend it or itll get used up on something else. Auld lad has often bought things that id think are no good but they would be very handy in reality. Id be a bit of a miser tho:D!

Have a 7x4 CLH single axel... lovely to pull behind the car...

    https://www.clhtrailers.com/catalogue/online/mesh-sided-livestock-trailer/mesh-drop-side-livestock-trailer/

Mine would take about 11 factory lambs...

Can you take the roof off that P8 model?
Now the roof would be handy at times, but I use it for non-livestock tasks More than anything... (I just use a tarp when moving sheep, which can be a bit of a faff at times)
I find it’s so easy to put on, and handy to tow, it keeps the boot of the car that bit cleaner too :)

Those CLH’s are fine trailers alright. I’ve rang around about them and the dealers don’t have anything bigger then a 7x4 and mostly unbraked. Anything bigger would be a special order and you’d be buying the trailer without seeing it or trying it out. Don’t really want to go smaller then the 8x4 as it would be my main sheep trailer. Just wondering what how Stable single axels are in comparison to the double ? Would you feel the sheep moving around whilst driving ? Do they put more nose weight in the back of a car when full ? What are they like to live with ?

Really good trailers as well. Six month waiting list unfortunately. Would build a trailer to your exact specification.
