Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Power shower

    Hi,

If anyone could give me some advice I would really appreciate it.

I recently got a Mira Airboost shower installed by a certified plumber. It's an pumped electric shower whereas before I just had an ordinary mixer shower that worked fine but just not enough pressure. But the shower keeps going boiling hot or freezing cold because it's mains feed and works off a well (I like in the countryside) with a circulation pump so the pressure fluctuates and the shower pressure is really awful now😔

My question is, if I bought a power shower like a Triton t90 and the setup was gravity feed hot water inlet and mains feed cold water inlet would this work??? I don't have the option of cold water storage tank cause the whole cold water system works off the mains.

I presume he took the feed from the cold water tank ? Or did he take it directly from the mains pump?

    Hey listermint,

He took it directly from the mains pump as all the cold water taps, toilet etc comes directly from the mains.

That model is for mains feed so correctly installed. However it has minimum pressure requirements.

Did he check the water pressure before installing?

Your home feed pump may not be up to task

    Or

If you have filters on it they could be blocked these need regular changing as they severely impact pressure when they are clogged.

Theses aren't Pumped Electric Showers. They are mains fed showers.

I installed Two of these in an office building during the week. Overpriced rubbish. Always try avoid an electric shower with a PCB board. Repairs can be 250 to 350 & more times than not you are better off replacing them if they break outside of the warranty, even if they are just over 2 years old. Both of the showers I installed were connected to the the pump servicing the ladies & gents toilets. The owners were very disappointed as they felt the water pressure or the perceived flow of water was no better than their old 20 year old Mira Sport showers that I had just taken out.

If it were me I'd re-plumb it & put in Triton T90SR shower off the tank.

Another option might be to install a HomeBoost pump https://www.salamanderpumps.co.uk/range/homeboost/5

But with your setup I think tank few is the way to go
