Solidarity might be a bit lacking at this protest, since the only groups Travellers seem to dislike more than settled people are rival Traveller families.

The whole thing could disintegrate into a Judean People's Front type farce.

Would be the perfect opportunity to roll a large .
steam roller down the street .

No mention of serial rapist Patrick Nevin being a traveller either.
That poor Brazilian student was treated terribly by him.

Patrick Nevin is not a traveller. His mother is Cynthia Owen from the Dalkey abuse case.

I'll take your word on that and apologise.
I thought it was the lad who used to live in Dundalk.
    I'll also clear the post.

The three lads that beat up that poor ref were travellers.
There's a big piece in the Sunday world about it.
They claim they were racially abused during the match.
The poor ref must have whistled racially someway!

Culture boss, everyone knows that we settle our grievances by attacking 3rd party individuals.

On a serious note anyone who attacks another person is genuinely a scumbag but to essentially play the I was abused card for attacking an individual not related to your grievance shows a true scummy bastard.

It does nothing to help the Traveller cause and only widens the gap between them and settled people .

Are they going to be up in court for this, it deserves a prison sentence or a good payout of compensation for the attacked person, and court costs

I understand the main lad is facing a lengthy spell for another incident (no doubt someone else's fault as well) so I doubt he'd be worried - he'll almost certainly get one of the famous concurrent sentences, so will make little or no difference to him.

I got the impression from the article that he was trying to take the blame for the younger lads, and this is probably why.

Do you think a traveller is going to pay compensation and court costs?

It's actually quite sweet to think that level of innocence remains in Ireland!

I don't listen to Newstalk or support their advertisers due to the off-the-scale liberal commentators/hosts. Casey could be a train wreck, and quite possibly a plant by Newstalk to appease the masses who may hold views similar to him, while not having the necessary skills to correctly handle ultra-liberal opponents.

I voted for Casey as a protest of the overly generous welfare state that has to be tax-supported and against the appeasement by the current government of the very vocal socialist/leftist/liberal minority.

Casey served a purpose, but no way is he capable of starting a party that would represent the majority in this country who are conscientious, tax paying, law abiding citizens. He is also not capable of voicing our concerns in a coherent and non-backtracking manner.

We need a good communicator who will represent the concerns of the majority. FF/FG/SF and the rest of them are all the same to us. They are incompetent liars whose political ideology is anchored in nepotism and cronyism while sharing the same characteristic of lacking a backbone.

The above post hits the nail on the head. We need someone passionate, articulate and with a serious backbone. As someone taking a stand for the working people here , will no doubt be accused of being some cold hearted right wing N**i in this ultra leftist cesspit!

Apparently they are not giving him a presenting slot, but are "working on a project" with him.
My feeling is that this project will be some stitch-up in order to appeal to their increasingly large "progressive" listenership.

Strangely enough, you ll find we ve become very conservative, particularly economically, but I will agree, we ve become rather liberal socially

I really hope he runs for renua, the ff and fg won’t changevat all , as long as they aren’t losing votes. In a way , he’s not very articulate, BUT does it really matter. Nothing but ****e and lies comes out of varadkar and the rest of their mouths!

I haven’t heard a word from him since the election. I didn’t watch the inauguration but has he been in the media since?

    Mickey, I mean.

I'd settle for awkward, fidgety, incoherent, ill prepared, nonsensical Peter Casey any day.

I'm practising gritting my teeth in readiness for maybe having to vote Fianna Fail for the first time in my life.

Maybe 'He who can't be named' (Not the chap from the Harry Potter books to be clear) is behind it. Maybe he's going to fund a new party

With that machinery and vehicle chop shop raided in Longford, another of their income streams is gone.

Yes, I'm assuming that travellers are involved, but I'll bet anything that I'm right.

Noticed how the T word was omitted again

If a traveller got nine A, s in the leaving cert, Eileen dunne would beam while introducing the segment.
