Intercom for electric gates - internal handset

    Hi,

I have a recently installed set of electric gates with what I consider a sub-standard internal Comelit 2702W handset which is a 5-wire system.
To open the gates, I need to push a button which essentially pushes two metal contacts together.
It is very hit and miss & I have to push hard to open the gates.
I do not have a direct line of sight to the gates, so do not know that they have opened so it is very frustrating.
Any recommendations for an alternative handset?
I am not familiar with different brands so hard to know what is good and bad.
Also - do you know if it possible to have multiple buttons on the handset to do the following:
    1) Pulse to open then close after set period
    2) Open only
    3) Close only

The controller is a DEA NET230N system.

    Thanks in advance!
