Hotel passing on Vat increase after agreeing price and paying deposit.

    I have booked a hotel for my wedding next November.
    We agreed a price per meal and per room however since the budget we have received and email stating the price is going up by €2 per meal and €5 per room due to the increase in vat in the budget.
    Can the hotel do this considering we have agreed a price before the budget and paid a deposit?
    Surely this is a breach of the condition of the contract?
    Any help would be appreciated.
