Just looking for opinion if it is worthwhile upgrading pc below to attempt to play BF V?
Or would it even run it as is at low settings at 1080p?
It runs bf 4 at around 45fps with a mix of medium to low settings at 1080p.

    I5 2500k hyper 212 cooler
    8 gb ram
    6950 1 gb ram
    P67 pro3 board
    550 w PSU

Would it be worthwhile putting a small SSD and maybe a gtx 1050 into it?
Have budget of maybe 150/180 ISH.
Will the 2500k be a bottleneck at this stage?

Alternative is to buy for ps 4 and try to enjoy it with a controller and autoaim nonsense.

You need an i7 and a new GPU unfortunately, the i5 throttles your PC badly in BF online, and your GPU is also extremely old and not helping either, both slow and a paltry 1GB vram.

If you absolutely can't go outside your budget, 2nd hand i7-3770 - €95 with two year warranty, and can hit 60fps locked in the game no problem.

GPU wise, try something like a 2nd hand R9 380X, I'm sure this guy would take €90-100 for example, would run the game at 1080p medium-high 60fps, with no issues.

Or else a GTX770 for €95 with 2 year warranty. Bit slower, but still OK and would get you by at 1080p medium 60fps.

I've no idea about BF:V but BF1 online ran pretty bad on Xbox and PS4 with framerates all over the shop, 30-50fps usually and horribly choppy to play at times.

You would also get about €50 for the 2500K and €30 for the 6950 so it's not a big outlay for significant upgrades!

I would go the extra though and get something like this. Combine this with the i7-3770, OK, you're about €50 over-budget (the guy might take a decent offer) but you'd be running the game at 1080p high 60fps without a sweat.

You could also find an old 4c/8t Xeon on eBay for 60-70 quid, leaving you with more money for GPU.

Thanks for the advice. Will mull it over. Not sure about going second hand on a GPU. Got stung on a 7970 before that lasted about six months

It may be outside your budget. But I will be selling a rx 480 8gb very soon. It has only being used for gaming. I could give you a good price on it as i will be heading to the states so o and upgrading .

CEX sell 2nd hand GPU's, you pay a premium versus buying off Adverts or Ebay but they give you a two year warranty.

So they have things like GTX770 for €95, GTX780 for €140, HD7870XT for €70 - all good deals, all big upgrades on your HD6950, considering the price/warranty offered.

If your budget is strict, the i7-3770 and GTX780 combo will cost you €235 with a two year warranty, and you'd get back close to €100 for your 2500/6950.

And be able to run the game at 1080p high settings 60fps just fine.
