Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Real Time Publicly Available Bus GPS Location Info

    Hi Guys,

    Are actual GPS locations of buses made publicly available by any of our transit providers ?

    Have looked but beyond schedules the only open source I've come across for real time data is at

    https://data.smartdublin.ie/dataset/real-time-passenger-information-rtpi-for-dublin-bus-bus-eireann-luas-and-irish-rail

    and although predictions are given there are no actual bus coordinates. Any other sources of real time info out there for public transport in Ireland ?

    I presume not as I've looked around but do let me know if I am wrong.

    I presume bus predictions are based on AVLs so this data exists. Does anybody know if there are plans to make it available ? Or know of anybody I could contact who would be in the know ?

    If its available it will be included on data.gov.ie

    I know that you're able to see the location of every Dublin Bus on the Journey Planner app on iPhone, so they have that data available at least, but I don't know if the source of that is available anywhere.
