Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stone wall insulation??

Was viewing an old stone cottage today that had stopped renovation work on it about a decade ago. It hasn't been lived in or heated for that time. The external stone walls about 18in thick had an earlier 1in internal plaster ( probably cement) kept insitu.
In the renovation external walls were newly plastered (v.probally cement).
From what I could gather from a small gap....The plaster internally was studded with 4&1/2 " timber with 1" bead board followed by 3or4" of rock wool loft type insulation and then plasterboard.
Both the bead board and rock wool seemed to have a bit of room/they weren't tight up against each other or the old plaster .
Now there isn't a hint of dampness on the stone wall or anywhere else. And I'm wondering will that change when the house is heated again ? Or what's the story atall atall?
    Many thanks.
