Certified Copy of Irish Passport in US

    can you get a certified copy of my irish passport in the untied states from the irish embassies. either in the washington dc or new york

    Not sure about the rules in the US but over here, a 'certified copy' of an official document usually involves you making a photocopy of an official document and then getting a bank official or a Garda to certify it as a true copy of the original. A solicitor (as a notary) will also do it, but for a fee.

    The Irish Consulate in NYC will give you a certified copy of your passport for $45. I expect that they will photocopy it and attach a certificate of authenticity to it.
