Lots to choose from these times, everyone will have their preference. If you like craft beers, then Mother Macs is a must. I also like Tom Collins and The Commercial - both are up around Catherine St.

If you're talking old school with some life in the house, I recommend JJ Bowles' and Charlie Malone's. Pints are solid, and a song never far away.

Can't go wrong with dominatinMC's recommendations. The Wickham Tap is also good for craft beers, and so is Mickey Martin's. We've some really good pubs in this town I think. A few others, not in the very centre but worth going to would be The Curraghower (although it is more of a restaurant these days), JJ Bowles and Katy Daly's which are either side of Thomond Bridge.

Flannery's and Myles Breen's on Shannon Street are lovely spots too.

Forgot about those two, great spots and a lovely pint to be had in both!

If you are a guinness drinker...Charlie Malone's...you're welcome!!!

I agree with Zulutango, some cracking little pubs in this town.

Mickey Martins and Tom Collins would be my picks.

MotherMacs and Souths good shouts too...

Thanks went to the Curragower for something to eat good spot
Then went to JJ Bowles but didn’t see it down the side street lol so I walked up further went in the Star pub but soon realized it was rough joint and left
Found Bowles it was grand but not worth the walk over
Might wandering again tonight a walk and pint

Bowles is a great spot, so sorry you had to experience the North star.

Charlie Malones is a bit out of the way but it's worth it

Timmy Martins is grand and they do a good pint. The Swamp (Cowheys) is worth a visit as well, friendly locals, good pints.

If you want to go to a pub to talk about Dutch cycling infrastructure I could give you a name or two! :)
