Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

08 Ford Focus instrument cluster fault. Where to repair?

    Hey Guys,

I have a 08 Ford Focus with an instrument cluster and immomoliser fault. Fault code U1900 diagnosed. I looked into getting it repaired as it`s causing several issues such as "Engine Malfunction", "Power Steering Malunction" warnings as well as electrics completely failing intermittently and no electrical power being in the car on turning the ignition.

I got a quote today from an Auto Electronics shop here in Galway of 180 euros which seems excessive for a repair such as this, which is fixed by essentially pulling out the cluster and resoldering a chip on the back (so i`m told).

Can anyone reccommend anywhere / anyone else in Galway handy with auto electronics that might be able to quote something a bit more reasonable?

    Thanks

I paid €100 last Friday, cluster out, resolder, reprogrammed, just to give you a
idea on price, but that was in wexford, car fine since.

There’s a fella in Castlebar that does them and he’s cheaper than that. Auto sense I think he’s called.

There’s someone else in Roscommon that Griffiths use. Not sure of the name though.

There’s no reprogramming when it’s done. Just clear the faults and it should start.

Check the connections on the fuse box in the passenger footwell.
