Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Today at around 2.30 and earlier in the week I was browsing tickets to Abu Dhabi. Return tickets were €535 each and when I went to order at 5.30 when I got home they were over €1400 each. WTF.

I had looked at Etihad during the week and they were a little cheaper but similar and again this evening there prices were gone crazy.

Is Friday evening a bad time?
The tickets are in mid Jan.
I tried dates a week earlier and later and the tickets are the exact same.

Gutted to be honest. I booked the hotel thinking the tickets would be ok until I got home

What dates are you look at ?

I see plenty of Etihad flights for under €600.

Clear your cache and look again maybe?

Obviously Cache is doing this. ALL Airlines as far as I can see use the system.

Just clear the history and start again or use another computer..;)

I normally take the flights first and then scour for the best deals in hotels etc.

Got return tickets at €565 each this morning on laptop in town. Checked on my phone when I got home and it's €605 nothing crazy.

The €1400 each yesterday nearly gave me a seizure

Id say the airlines make a pretty penny with the cache trick, a lot of people wouldnt know about it and get caught out and panic buy for fear of it rising further.

I also noticed last year when buying tickets for a West End show that my mate in London could get them for about 30% cheaper on his UK internet connection than I was being offered here in Ireland.

That's crazy. Is that legal? Sounds severely dodgy.

This would explain why my flights to Philippines last year were different prices on different devices or from app to browser in the likes of kayak etc.

    Shady as ****!!

Dunno if it is legal but they all seem to do it.

I book numerous flights in the year and if you wait or check from another computer other than the first computer you tried, the price is always more expensive on the first computer.

It is an old trick, one that I have been aware of for years.

The advice is to clear your cache regularly not just for bookings.Use skyscanner then when skyscanner gives a "cheap deal" on a website you should go directly(after a clearing)to the particular website and check prices again.Sometimes via skyscanner is cheaper than the actual travel company's website.

I booked a flight in August for travel in January.Prices were level in June/July then started moving up/down then bigger jumps in early August.I panicked(never again!)and booked. The price I paid is only being reached this week(there were wild jump in between for the benefit of panickers). I think for certain routes you can wait a longer time i.e. closer to your travel date.

Clearing cache made no difference for me.
