You'll have to pardon my ignorance here, but am replacing a bathroom extractor fan which has given up the ghost.

I tried to get the same model which was an Xpelair with a timer, but actually got the standard model without timer.

I only realised this when I wired it up as it's now always on.. so I've disconnected it for my sanity! :D

With that though, I've three wires from the old timed model:

    - permanent live
    - neutral
    - switched live (wired into lighting system)

My plan is to use the switched live to just power the fan when the light is on - which should be sufficient but what would be the best way to safety terminate the permanently live wire?
