Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have seen Diesel at 1.54€ and the locals are not happy. They have taken to blocking roads in protest. I feel sorry for all the foreign truck drivers who got caught up in all this.

    Why?

If you've read the reports, it's gone way beyond just a bit of peaceful "blocking of roads". Lots of injuries and even one death.

The French take protesting very seriously. They don't mess about

Then that price goes up another 6.5c or so for diesel from 1 Jan next year.

    C’est pas bon.

Stuff is taxed to the hilt as it is. The solution... More taxes on it.

The Masochist in me sort of wishes we got an oil shock to force the Government to stop taxing fuel the way they do.

A law should be passed that all revenue from VRT, Oil Distillate, Motor Tax etc. is invested directly into Infrastructure and public transport.Instead is squandered on huge pensions for useless civil servant workers, and all manner of wastage. I would in favour of privatising the entire running of the country something like the East India Company because the Govt are too corrupt and inept to do anything right.
