I'm doing a first service on my Astra 1.7 CDTi Ecoflex since I bought it. I've looked at a couple of videos and it seems pretty straightforward but I'm wondering is there anything to watch out for?

Also, the internet tells me I need 5.4 litres of BMW-LL-04 5W30. Is that right and will any synthetic 5W30 do or does it have to be the BMW stuff?

    Thanks.

Go for it - oil specs can be confusing as its up to the brand what tests they do / put on the label. As its an Opel you need GM: Dexos 2 (formerly GM GEOS) but for many oil brands the same oil will also be BMW-ll-04 certified, and the more generic spec of both will be C3-12
