Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Here’s the quote going around about a third season

“I spoke to Ben Turner, from production company Fulwell 73, who offered some insight into the future of the popular Netflix documentary and made a tantalising promise.

"We're not filming at the moment," Turner said. "We wanted to find a new angle, which we couldn't quite do. When Sunderland win the Champions League, we'll be there. Hopefully a bit before then."

Was that Ellis Short sitting behind Methven in the cup final?

Hindsight is great and all. but you'd very rarely see ay clubs let someone run down their contract

Agreed. But something has changed since. Sent on loan to Charlton because of his negative influence on the dressing room.

With the Maja thing, they had only bought the club when he was in the last season of the deal and the agent gave them a figure, so they must have assumed he was willing to talk.

Maja should have at least done the honourable thing, told them hes leaving and not go public. They could have signed someone straight away and just waited for the window to open.

Grigg at the end of the day was FOMO of a passionate guy who was in a super weak position.

Also, bad mouthing the manager was mentioned a few times, no doubt that happens at every club but there is no cameras. A bit silly but this documentary and all the faults that show from people are exactly why other clubs dont do it.

One of the first scenes of the new season, he's at a meeting with the commercial team and he asked the room if anyone knew how much the club's interest payments on it's debt were, nobody knew the answer. Fcucking astounding. He said himself the culture and the way the club had been operating were "absolutely f**ked", he wasn't exaggerating. To turn that around to the point where they were breaking even by the end of the season is pretty impressive.

Ya it was like an unsuccessful attempt at weaning a baby off its mothers tit. One thing that struck me was the absence of any input from a finance professional within the club, unless I missed it. Where was the Finance Director during the decline?

I get that he had a tough job in changing bad practices and poor professionalism in the club, but the stench of self-importance that I got from him and the owner was overwhelming. The half-time armchair punditry and public slatings of the manager (Jesus, that radio interview!) were cringeworthy.

Methven did very well to turn the finances around but the two of them were out of their depth and doesn't look like it'll last.

Donald seems to love the idea of owning the club but also being one of the lads in the stands with the fans. He went looking for funding but doesn't seem to fancy selling the club even though he can't afford to keep going with it. The Griggs situation was ridiculous.

From reading about the circumstances of him finishing his previous marriage it was quite ironic his new wife/partner calling him 'honorable'!!

What did he do with his previous wife?
