Repair process for iPod

Hi folks,

Just wondering if ye could point me in the right direction to return an iPod for repair.

Long story short, my daughters (lightly used!!!) 3 year old iPod home button stopped working.
Then a few weeks later she couldn’t turn it on. Couldn’t do a hard reset as no home button!!

Anyhow, I believe that there is a 5 year warranty period but not sure??

What are my best options now?

It was bought directly from Apple refurb store.
Hope this doesn’t affect warranty!

Do I just contact Apple directly so??
