Was it working before the switch was changed?

If so, it's likely you've just missed one of the wires. There are three, two go in one side, and the third in the other.

There might be an earth wire too (different colour) depending on when your house was built, but that doesn't affect the operation of the light.

It wasnt working before the switch change. The switch was getting stuck and then light stopped working so assumed it was switch.

Changed it and wired it as it was and still doesnt work. House was built 2004

Check the wires in the actual light fitting itself. They can work loose over time if the grub screws haven't been tightened properly.

Only attempt to do this work after you turn the power off at the mains first, the MCB should be flicked off or kill the power entirely.
