Choosing an estate agent

A family member will be trying to sell a house:
an architect designed 1950's small bungalow, now life expired but on a decent plot of private land in a prime location, classy suburb.
(South Dublin, right on the DART)

He's not sure how to go about finding an auctioneer that will get the estate the best price
Are they all equally ethical and do the same things in the same way?
Or do some have "specialties" etc? eg, houses vs sites?

    Any advice gratefully received!

Email as many as possible and see what fees etc they are looking for.

You may well go for a big name etc but in that area I don't see why it wouldn't be sold quick.

Despite the tinfoil hat stuff you read here about phantom bidders etc estate agents are all licenced and ethical.

A brand helps but it also depends on the individual agent you get too.

Best of luck with it. Just get a set fee and make sure no hidden charges etc.
