    Hi all.

    Total novice here so apologies.
Our 11yo boy is a massive PS4 fan especially Fortnite like so many kids!
He is really competive playing with his friends and is getting quite good at wins and kills.
Anyhow, as he's a preteen, he's hard to buy for for Xmas. He's past the toy stage. He doesn't seem to know what to want himself either.
I've seen online about a SCUF controller and how he helps with PS4 percision. If this is the case, I know he'd love one. Anyone any input into this?
Currently he only has the controller that came with the console.
Failing this, does anyone else have any suggestions for a young gamer.
I have told him he's too young for a phone or laptop yet.
He loves the STEM subjects in school and has shown great interest in the Scratch programme and now uses similiar apps on my phone and laptop for editing videos and photos.
    Hope someone can help.
    Much thanks.

I should add that most of his time is spent playing Fortnite online or on disc he plays FIFA a bit.
I don't think there are any games that he currently likes because it's the element of playing live with friends that he loves most.

    Thank you!
I will tell him to research these so and therfore if he likes the sound we'll be onto a winner.
I'm surprised he hasn't heard of them already actually.

My brother has one for his ps4, haven't used it myself but it looks good. Few extra paddles on the back and the ergonomics seem good. Expensive though.

It would be his 'main' present for Christmas.
Cyber Monday might bring something in the bargain box!!

I would really appreciate if someone would be able to tell me where I could buy one in Ireland please.

    Alternatively I've found this website.

Thanks from a mum who played Commodore 64 in her day and is very confused.

you'd probably be better off to buy them from the official site (the one in your last post)

To change thread title, click edit post, select advanced and change title.

Don't believe they can be bought in B&M shop.
They need to be manufactured to your spec.

You could get him something cheap for now and fork out about $200 for the Astro C40 TR in March next year... #justsayin

    Hi again.

So I've decided to purchase him a SCUF controller.
(Sorry I cannot seem to change the thread title in my mobile as I don't have the advanced option).
Is there anyone who could have a look at the SCUF website and tell me which one he would use please?
He has a PS4 and plays mostly Fortnite and is very competitive about precision shots etc.
I really appreciate any help because both his parents are pretty green when it comes to technology.

These are all the same it seems, just different colours. Pick one that suits the youngfella and you're sorted

I see that there are a few for ps4.
They are different names and prices.
I just want to be sure that the one we get is not just the same or similar to the one that came free with the console.
If there's anyone who has one and could tell me which is good in terms of having more options and advantages than the regular one, I'd really appreciate that.
    Thanks.

It does look confusing but there are actually only 2 controllers compatible with Playstation:

SCUF INFINITY4PS PRO, this is the same shape as the one that comes with the console. This has 2 rear paddles.

SCUF IMPACT, this is shaped more like an Xbox controller which most people would consider the more ergonomic, it does, however, still retain the PS thumbstick layout. This has 4 rear paddles.

I would recommend the SCUF IMPACT, you cover all bases with this model. Not sure on how much you are willing to spend but each step of the process costs more.

I would honestly grab the Electro-Magnetic Remapping, and trigger system. The grip is optional, very nice but optional. The shell, trim and buttons are again your choice as some cost more than others.

I'd also grab the SCUF domed regular length thumbsticks on both left and right, again colour is choice. You don't need the control disc for the d-pad and you can leave the rumbles in.

For a black controller with stock buttons and no grip that clocks in at €180.
