Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,
    hoping for some help.
Background - multi zone heating system.
Upstairs rads have not worked in months.
    Plumber does not turn up.
Having a look around I found the below picture.
I think these are relays? Can anyone confirm or provide some additional information?
Specifically do the orange dots on the ones on the left mean they are fubared?

If yes, are they easy to replace?
    thanks in advance

Orange dots just mean the coils are energized.
These are just plug in relays that you can pull out from it’s base, I would be surprised if your issue lies with these as they are very reliable and as I already said 2 of the coils are energized and pulled in.
If you have a multimeter you can check have you voltage on the auxiliary contacts. You will def have voltage on the coil of the first 2, across a1 and b1 you will have 230v but it’s the Other contacts id be checking first and working back or firward depending

Pull out the first 2 relays and swap them with the second 2, they will be a bit tight but hold the base when pulling., turn on all zones and see have the 2 on the right gone orange

If you have multizone heating, do you have wireless temperature controls? A little box on the wall upstairs with an LED screen. If so, I had the same issue because my upstairs wireless receiver wasn't connecting to the main one. It looked like it was but it needed resetting.
Mine were made by EPH so I rang them and someone kindly walked me through how to reset the upstairs one. My plumber didn't come either that time!

    thanks for the response.
I've plugged and and out the relays, swapped them around etc but all to no effect. They all "seem" to be doing what they should.

I do have wireless temp controls (specifically tado). However I'm fairly confident that they are working as designed. I saw that because they can "call" the boiler. IE when they are switched on, the bolier starts as expected, but the hot water never actually reaches any of the rads.....
which leads me to believe that it is a problem with the pumps...
