Well worth it. Once you have hulu you can get hbo through hulu.

The only issue I can see so far is that it looks like you have to have a US issued credit card to pay. I'll try and see later if I can get Revolut loaded with $ or PayPal to work when signing up.

I wonder what does limited commercials mean? Every 10min rather than 5min?

The ads are mindblowingly annoying on most streams.
I switched from limited ads to no ads because I could not stick the frequency of them

However, for 0.99c per month for 12 months that's great
New and returning customers only though

Mind me asking how you paid for your subscription previously?

Hulu Giftcards - was easier than the mullarkey of US virtual credit card and addresses etc

It's about 30.00 USD for a 25 USD giftcard - they do a 50 USD one too (about 59.00 USD)

Legit site, have used them multiple times

I've been using Hulu for a few years now.
Well worth it for the series. Unfortunately, brands like Marvel did deals with Netflix & others so certain shows were removed. But still great for variety.

Hulu & Netflix cover most of my viewing.

Use mygiftcardsupply.com for Hulu & Microsoft subscriptions.

Xbox is set to USA region. Hulu & Netflix apps installed so that i can get US versions. I also use a DNS masking service that bypasses geo restrictions.

Going by the above, just thinking aloud here.. 2 boardsies could join together perhaps to buy 1 gift card between both ($30 / 2 = $15 each, to get a $25 Hulu gift card, which would cover both users for 12 months of the 99¢ deal)

So $15 each ($25 gift card plus $5 fee shared by 2 people) should cover 2 annual subs.

Although Nevermind, I'm sure once you apply the gift card to one Hulu account the balance can't be shared by another.. Ah well, just thinking aloud!

When I used to subscribe to Hulu I paid through iTunes, I will check later if it can be reupped the same way

EDIT I checked and it can't be done that way. I'll try a new account via the Apple TV app later and see if it's a runner.

I don't know about this offer but I have hulu & hbo. I buy hulk gift cards and pay that way. There are walk throughs online explaining how to setup a hulu account from the EU

The problem i see is the initial payment option, it offers payment by card or express checkout. I'm wondering if revolut would work.

Baconfeet via emby is a great alternative

Isn't that just a subscription based alternative for certain Kodi addons (that shall not be named here!). I'm guessing you understand what I mean, I don't see why you would pay for that? I haven't used it myself so may be misunderstanding what its providing.

How bad are the ads? Do they come on while your watching something?

90 second ads every 10 minutes for tv shows usually (same as if you were watching the tv networks).

    Movies have no ads

I have a US debit card and a US credit card so could skip that hurdle. You'll need a VPN too. I use Private Internet Access and then theres no issues watching

Is there any such thing as a US only prepay credit card i wonder

Revolut should work if you exchange money to US dollars first

I would have thought so but it requires a zip code at registration

Just google the format and make one up or use a zip code generator

    I used 90210 without issue

  • Registered Users Posts: 759 ✭✭✭Moyglish

Using a US based VPN whilst trying to sign up. No luck using Revolut preloaded with $ and using a US zip code, just keep getting errors.

Just tried PayPal there now too, outta luck there aswell, won't accept non-US based/registered PayPal accounts.

Anyone else got any tricks up their sleeves before going the gift card route?

  • Registered Users Posts: 733 ✭✭✭Ronan

Read on another forum that you can't get this deal with gift cards, so I'd check first before going that route.

Will Game of Thrones be on Hulu?
Looking for the cheapest way to (legitimately) watch that when the new season is out

No but it is on HBO. You can subscribe to HBO through Hulu at a reduced rate for 6 months. Binge watch it in one month and then cancel HBO

    Care to share your wizardry?

Can you get Silicon Valley with this? 🤔

So are giftcards definitely out for this deal then?

Or did anyone else get a gift card to work to sign up for the offer?

Hi, can you confirm you used that for this weekend's deal please? Wondering where you would enter it in, theres a tab for credit/debit card and one for express check out options on the Hulu site. Does the gift card number go straight in the credit card entry?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,484 Mod ✭✭✭✭F1ngers

    Redeem your giftcard here: https://secure.hulu.com/start/gifting.

I used this method and there was no $0.99 offer available.

No. I've had Hulu for the last six months

So, does this work without a US credit/debit card? I tried Revolut with dollar currency but no joy.

Did anyone get this working on the end?

Did anyone get this working on the end?

    Hopefully someone did!

I'm already on hulu and paid up till March so I couldn't avail of the offer.

Looks like you can only get this with prepaid virtual US card and US Unlocked (the most trusted one) isn't tatking new customers at the moment
Fees on top of loading inc 15dollar initial fee and various fees for different amounts so...

I don't know if there are any more trustworthy US virtual card companies I'm sure there are

Hi I tried this last night using ExpressVPN and Revolut and didn't work on Macbook.

Tried again now on iPhone with ExpressVPN and Revolut- didn't work.

Tried it with N26 and it worked! Got the $0.99 per month for a year. Downloaded app on to phone and have tried it and it works. :D:cool:

I've been getting emails from mygiftcard telling me about the Hulu offer so you should be able to get it. I will say after being with Hulu for the last 6 months their redeem gift card link is hit and miss

Looks like Hulu will be coming to Ireland anyway

*Don't know how reliable that article is

Ive no doubt they will but like Netflix & amazon prime video they are restricted in what they can show in Ireland. This is usually down to the Irish channels having the rights to show programs.

I'd imagine Hulu would be a tiny shadow of itself by the time it hits Ireland

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,796 ✭✭✭sweetie

I checked what was available to watch and decided to give it a miss. Netflix, prime video, shudder and sky go got me covered in fairness!

Decided to sign up for N26 and try that seeing as you had success with it, disappointed to see however after the painful verification process (but that's another story!) that you don't get a virtual debit card number to use right away like with Revolut. So I'm all outta luck on this one I guess. :(

But congrats to whoever managed to nab the deal!

If by painful process you mean trying to get it to accept your application and photo/ selfie then believe me I bought that t-shirt last month and was also disappointed at the time that I'd no virtual card to use. :(
    That is a shame. :(

I set up a US PayPal account last night, but when trying to sign up for the Hulu deal it still wanted a US based card to pay, even though I preloaded the US PayPal account with $12 which I thought would cover the 12 month subscription. So no joy there for me that way either.

Anyone get the US PayPal account to work?
