Can you imagine somebody coming on claiming how delighted they are to be straight, how fantastic it is to be straight, how they live to show off their sexual self in every way possible, how proud they are to be the way they are. Talk of equality.

Last time he was on, he did not want to speak about it. He was also a lot more 'sober' than he is tonight.

I like him. He seems like a decent individual, not intentionally offensive and provoking like a lot of the SJW types. If all the LGBT people were like that there'd be no tensions with them.

Did Parkinson have a gobsheite accent back then or was it just the brutal microphones?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

Parkinson is blessed by being articulate and holding no grudge at the same time. His respect for Best is genuine and sorrowful at the same time.

I though it was shocking and sad that he had a liver transplant and went back on the booze after the transplant.

This is embarrassing... D'Arcy being shown up as so out of his depth, completely outclassed by intellectual giants by comparison.

But enough about the lego kids, Parky's interview going great as well despite him.

Text book case of addiction. Ray didn't bother to tease it out.

If Best drank that much alcohol and played in modern times, he'd be finished much earlier as a player.

It seems a bit of a cop-out really, shifting goalposts. He could play differently from the start of his career.

Not to mention that Messi is actually very good at getting away from nasty tackles. His style is to scramble around them and does well with dirty tackling. Ronaldo... not so much.

If Rory has anyone who loves him...or even LIKES him... then they should advise him now that he looks grotesque in drag and needs to retire Pantibliss. It was a horrible nasty name too.

I knowcteo people who had successful liver transplants, long term good health, from having both consumed a bit too much alcohol (ie fairly normal Irish drinking pattern)? in combination with having familial haemochronatisis a common Irish condition of excessive iron absorption. In these type of cases transplants are very successful and an last a full lifetime into great old age. However, with people with a very serious addiction to alcohol (versus a fond habit of consumption) they are most likely to return to alcohol and eventually wear out new liver. But what likely happens sooner, as in George Best’s case, is that the important precise dosage, at precise times, of anti-rejection drugs is missed with resulting rejection of organ or over-suppression of immune system (the latter being what GB did, take too many anti-rejections after over-compensating for alcoholic memory lapses, with resultant sepsis and consequent death.

Isn't it only a pity that George didn't meet Ray D'Arcy early in his life, so that he could have got a lecture on each of the aforementioned items. And about an hour of a bonus lecture on sugar as well.
