    Hi guys

Bought an Onkyo 870 av receiver off you about ten years ago and its now given up the ghost and died. So I need a new av receiver to match with my monitor audio 5.1 speakers please. To be honest the Onkyo was overkill for what I needed it for and I wouldn't need anything as "bells and whistles" this time round. However I do love my movies and so I'd like a new receiver that can give me that lovely surround sound feeling that is very sadly missing from my tvs tinny speakers. Budget is tight I'm afraid but what can you offer me as a good av receiver that won't have me regretting not spending a bit more.

I'll need HDMI inputs for a PS4, Apple tv box and Satellite receiver.

    thanks

    David

    Hi David.

Sorry to hear your Onkyo has given up on you.

If you don't want to spen too much money you could have a look at the Denon AVRX550BT coming in at £219

Marantz have their slimline NR1508 coming in at £249

    Hi

Thanks for the reply above. The Denon is a bit basic for me. The Marantz appeals but not in silver (too 80's-ish!)

What about the Denon AVRX2400? https://www.richersounds.ie/p-13044-denon-avrx2400-black-atmos-av-receiver.aspx

Seems to fit the bill for me but its "not available to order online"?? I wouldn't have the time to drive up to Belfast between work and kids.

    Hey D13exile.

Unfortunately the 2400 is now discontinued and all our stock has been sold through.
There will be no more of these available.

Its replacement is the AVRX2500 priced at £429.00

Thanks for the reply Kenny but I can't afford that.

Guess I'll have to live with the TV's speakers.

    Cheers
