Hi, I'm in Italy next week and planning to do a day trip to San Marino. Just looking for tips or reccomendations.

I'm staying in Rimini and plan on getting the bus from outside the train station to SM. Anyone able to advise on things worth seeing, things to avoid and anywhere nice for some grub.

I'm not expecting a lot from San Marino but any advice would be great!

    Cheers!

Last there 1982!!! My memories are of widespread bootleg cassettes and spirits being decanted into wine bottles to avail of higher duty free allowances!!! Hopefully it's improved!!

I stayed a night in Rimini last year and spent the following day in San Marino. It was part of a 12 country trip and ended up being my favourite!

It's basically one big mountain with a cool castle on top! What's not to like?!

From memory I believe it's Monte Titano(?) and the views are fantastic. The day we visited there was a really high class wedding happening so we kind of tagged along in some festivities (within reason!)

On the drive up we passed plenty of nice cafes etc but didn't stop as we had some miles to cover.

I do remember thinking things were expensive but not really surprising.

The atmosphere was great and people were very, very friendly to us.
