Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hes an ambundance of stamina too, badly outpaced and he was only getting going jumping the last in last years big handicap chase @Chelt over 2m 5f giving nearly 2 stone to the winner. I just cant fathom how a Paul Nicholls young improving 7 year old who won a King George with loads left in the tank and has course form is such a big price.

He’s a big price because his last run is by far his best and came out of the blue really as he never threatened at that level before, I myself find it hard to trust him to do it again as he has let me down in the past and would need to see him back up his last run.
Jockey said after the race at kempton he was flat out the whole way to keep up with them which concerns me also with the test of jumping at Cheltenham being far greater at a fast pace.
If Henderson is giving good reports of might bite in the weeks before he might be the e/w bet.

Who's your idea of the winner so? A repeat for Native River?
Unoriginal but Percy for me. The horse is just class.

I'd much rather back Sizing John, Road to Respect, Bellshill, Might Bite at bigger prices than CDO at 9s

I think he'll be the one I eventually go for at the prices . Him and sizing John look the value at the moment . If the ground is good they have big chances .

jessica isnt running on good ground this weekend?

cant back MB till the week itself
ground is EVERYTHING for him, and even with the ground he could blow up but we all know the potential is there

for me i am thinking a front 3 of Percy, Thistlecrack, Bellshill

Clan Des Obeaux is the new Silviniaco Conti, could win the next 2 KG but won’t get competitive in March

Same Trainer, has 4 legs and same animal I'd say were his criteria.

I don't think Clan Des Obeaux will stay. I'd still fancy Native River to win in March.

People tipping native river, are ye just solely going on last year's form? Can't see how anyone can have him over say, thistlecrack this year ?

Hes ran 2 great races in the circumstances this season you cant knock a warrior like Native River if you want a run for your money hes the horse to back cant see him out of the places imo.

Gold Cup runs are 3rd and 1st, he's guaranteed to stay the trip, likes the track, good comeback run at Haydock and stayed on well at Kempton on a track that wouldn't suit or play to his strengths.

Thistlecrack Eachway at 14s just too good to pass on. The run in the King George was a real step up. If he improves on that again should place. The hype around Animix has gone for the Supreme but if he keeps his entry for Saturday and wins I can see a tumble in prices again about 12/1 now worth a small Ew NRNB.

Apple's Jade for the Champion Hurdle NRNB. Had the possibility of winning it but Elliott seems to think the Mares Hurdle is where she will go. I'd say slot depends on Samcro.

i am surprised PP haven't gone NRNB all races yet
    Way behind last year

Hard to believe Mengli Khan was a decent flat horse, he was slow as a boat yesterday looked like he needed another lap of the course.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,977 ✭✭✭HandsomeBob

I don't think Mengli fancies his new job. Speed doesn't really come into it.

Apples jade setting a fast pace will only suit buveur d’air.
Can’t see her winning unless he makes mistakes.
His most impressive performance was v Samcro and he set a nice pace and led buveur d’air nicely into the race.
    Same will happen at Cheltenham

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,022 ✭✭✭madmoose

Hope Laurina goes CH so we see how good she is plus Walsh would want to ride her and Benie then in the mares surely?

Laurina or Sharjah in the CH Walsh will only be picking Laurina so lets hope she goes.

Fair play to anyone who got a nice price on Apples Jade for the Champion Hurdle

I’m not buying the “in season” talk about AJ’s previous poor cheltenham performances.

I think she doesn’t like the track and I will be taking her on whatever she runs in

Your comparing an inferior animal to probably the best mare of our generation. Apples Jade would lap Samcro.

Something certainly caused her to run an absolute shocker and it wasnt the dislike of the course.

Think Joseph o'brien horses running well enough so was looking to put bet on him for top trainer at Cheltenham. I took him at 50-1 on bet365. Surprised that PP have him at only 14-1. Some difference of opinion.

Annie power is the best mare of our generation.
Apples won’t be winning the champion hurdle, she will set it up for the speed horses.

Close 2nd in the Triumph having not run for 3 months, then won the mares hurdle beating G1 winner Vroum Vroum Mag. Hardly poor performances.
Last year wasn't good, but two good runs v one bad doesn't really support your argument.

I cant have her at all, sure Gordon has Samcro and apples jade for years now and has always said if he has a champion hurdler in the yard It was Samcro.
Melon was awful yesterday and supasundae hasn’t been himself this season the rest are rubbish anyway.
I like the horse but 2 miles is not her trip buveur d’air would of had no problem tracking her around yesterday and pouncing late and that’s what he needs to be seen to his best as nothing can ever lead him far enough into his races.
Her form is nothing special if you look back through it.

I’m not overly keen on her for the Champion Hurdle either but to say her form is nothing special is unbelievably harsh. Her winning distances are ridiculous. I like the strong opinion all the same.

The distances are special but her opposition yesterday was a stayer in 2nd a horse on a retrieval mission, an under performer and a couple no hopers.
Typical of most her races, and I know it’s not her fault what turns up but she’s very beatable when you look through her form.
I’d fancy Sharjah to beat her too

I don't think Supasundae is an ought and ought stayer at all. Would be of the opinion he'd have won the Champion Hurdle last year had he ran in it. I don't think Petit Mouchoir nor Melon ran *that* much below their best form on Saturday either. Saying that I will most likely take her on at Cheltenham, not sure the Old Course is ideal for her.

Will Willie get a run into Laurina before the Champion Hurdle? Ricci said he hopes to get a run into Saldier at the Red Mills in 2 weeks.
